Do not buy this thermostat
Thermostat is not worth buying!! Worked for cooling but does not work for heating. Unfortunately, we threw away the packaging and can't return it. Don't waste your money!! We replaced the same model that had worked for not quite 8 years and stopped working for cooling. We have a heat pump and at the time this was the only one available for heat pumps. Am replacing with something else. I rated it one star because it wouldn't accept zero.

A pain in the butt and unreliable
The Ritetemp model 6020 thermostat was already in a home we recently bought. The A/C says the temp is 80.5 F when it's actually colder. It won't shut off. I've checked and rechecked the settings to see if they were wrong. It is the most aggravating thermostat I've ever had, so looking into getting a Honeywell to replace it. The review that said this particular model isn't programmable must be on the wrong page. It IS supposed to be programmable, but doesn't want to cooperate. Never seen one this difficult to work.

Zero stars for me please!
We're renters and this house was built in 1990. I'm not sure how old this thermostat is but the previously written review explains a lot. Granted we had a HOT summer, but after making some serious power-friendly changes indoor, our AC bill only increased. And now the heat is too hot with the schedule set to only 68-72. Regardless of the temperature readings...The unit is a PAIN to operate. It has this really annoying function of the screen freezing up after "60" seconds (per manual)), but it's actually only 5 seconds. While waiting for it to unfreeze, the screen goes dark and the numbers are barely visible. Then you have to wait for the screen to light back up. And now one of the sensors is bad and won't change the times of day. ARGH!We will be shopping for thermostats. Even if our landlord doesn't pay for it, it'll pay itself off in the 1st month.

Rite Temp 6022
I purchased this product two years ago at Home Depot. The product was easy to install and program, but the temperature sensor went bad. I would have problems with the thermostat stating that the house is 60 degrees in the summer so the air wouldn't go on. The actual temp in the house was about 80 degrees. I turned the setting from cool to off, then back to cool and then the temp reading dropped to 25 degrees! I pulled the batteries out a couple of times and hit the reset button a couple of times before I got an accurate reading. Stick with Honeywell if you are buying a thermostat.

Simple, Reliable...did I mention Simple?
I've read the other reviews of this thermostat and am surprised. These reviews have to be for another model. This model, first of all has no "touch screen". Furthermore, it is not "programmable". It's COOL, HEAT, AUTO, OFF, TEMP UP, or TEMP DOWN.Simple, Reliable.
