Knife Sharpener - 1000/6000 Double Sided Combination Sharpening Stone with Non-slip Bamboo Base - Also for any Blades, Razors and Scissors by Regnus

This is a large high-quality stone. The base is well designed. Two rubber gaskets come with the stone to keep it in place when in use. Knife sharpening is not something I do everyday so I have not yet used this with a variety of blades. However, it seems to be everything that I want or need to keep my good carbon and stainless blades maintained and sharpened. If you have an investment in good knives it makes sense to invest in a fine stone that will not damage them. I am very pleased with this product.

Eh... Wears really fast and there is no way the 6000 side is a true 6000 grit, more like a 3-4k. Get a cheap King stone or something before you buy this.

Revised - 12/11 - Brano from Regus contacted me on December 6th notifying me that because of my problems, he would replace my Sharpening stone at no charge. There has been some redesigning since I made my original purchase where the logo was moved to the side (huge plus) and the fitment of the rubber holder and bamboo base is much better. It also now includes an angle guide for your knives. Overall, the product is MUCH better now and the customer service is great.Old Post - First off, I did NOT receive this product at a discount for an unbiased review. Who are you people fooling? The second you received a discount, you're already biased.I have two problems with this product: 1.) The 1000 grit side has the brand name embeded into it. You can tell it is a different type of material than the rest of the orange grit and it "feels" different when you are sliding a cutting edge over it. It feels like the areas where the letters are are not as effective as the rest of the stone surface. 2.) The stone actually grows in size when you soak it in water. When you try to place it back in the bamboo tray in the rubber seat, it doesn't fit! When I did try to fit it into the tray, the bamboo split.All that being said, it did sharpen and hone my blades just fine. It's just sad to see all of these "unbiased" reviews on here. Had I dug into the reviews a little further before hand, I would not have purchased this product.

Three of these were ordered as gifts and they arrived within days of the order being placed. Instructions were clear and would be easy to follow and they did an amazing job of sharpening my dull kitchen knives and shears. I'd recommend this product!

I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He started sharpening his kitchen knives less than an hour after he opened the present. The tip broke off his favorite knife 6 years ago and he has been unable to use it since then. In less than 20 minutes he was able to sharpen a new point on the knife. He is SO HAPPY! It's like he has a whole new set of knives after using this product. The bamboo holder is really nice and keeps it from slipping. Amazon had the stone pictured with a oil stone lub.. The stone is a water stone and does not use the oil. A gross error and does not represent what the true item is.The white stone is very soft, not good rather. You really sold me a bill of goods.

Good product and great vendor. I received my Regnus sharpening stone very promptly once I placed the order. It came with a set of instruction on how to use it effectively. Vendor support was terrific. Regnus reached out proactively to make sure I received the order on time and asked if I had any questions or comments. I did have a comment regarding how to clarify the user instructions and they personally responded to my email. The stone works as I expected so no issues at all. The one thing I learned (and this really has nothing to do with Regnus) is that understanding how to most effectively use a wet stone takes a little practice.

This stone works really well on all my knives and is a necessity for my harder Japanese blades. The owner of the company is super customer oriented and will go out of his way to assist customers. Great product, great company !
