This dog food really impressed me. First off, my dogs liked the taste. I liked the fact that it smelled like good fish, not spoiled oil like most foods. You could see the quality and feel that it wasn't greasy. I like that it contains fruit and veggies and is healthy for my "kids". It was developed in part by the Famous Burt Ward (Robin from the Series "Batman") who loves animals and Dogs in particular. You can tell that he put his love for dogs into this formula. It also helps dogs live longer due to not containing high fats like most other dog foods. "Gentle Giants Dog Food" price is also comparable to the lower grade foods, while the food quality is comparable to the higher quality foods found in the chain type Pet Stores. Our German Shorthair Spaniel girls are eight and ten. The older has begun to slow down over the past two years. She’s developed arthritis and has had difficulty climbing the stairs to go to bed at night. We’ve had her on Veterinary Glocosamine supplements and Rimadyl. Our younger one has also begun slowing down and had a torn ligament in a hind leg this past spring. They both have issues with skin/coat and both are a tad on the tubby side - our fault!These two have been on Hill’s Science Diet since day one. Ten days ago we switched over and by the fourth day we were both seeing what seemed to be increasing energy, playfulness and less scratching. Four days later, we mentioned what we’d noticed to each other. Today - our girls are running around, playing with each other - and us like they haven’t in years! The scratching episodes have decreased and they just seem far happier and less lethargic. The older girl has not painfully hobbled but run up the stairs the last two nights.We had NO problems switching them to the new food and they LOVE it!

We had been purchasing the gentle giants chicken formula. The puppies seemed to be doing well on that. Amazon was out, so we decided to try the grain free salmon. It is amazing. I loved the other one. I was even happier with this one. The puppies loved it, and it fixed their slightly runny stool. They really seemed to thrive on it. The only down side, which is a good thing in many ways, is the smell. It really smells fishy. The food even feels a bit more oily. They seemed to lose less hair while they are eating this one as well. I would totally recommend trying this for your dog.

I was dubious to order it mainly because of the TV ads. It seemed a bit hokey.I was dead wrong. My 6 year old rat terrier is crazy about this stuff. She had gluten allergies and her skin needs a lot of omega vitamins or she breaks out. This dog good has no gluten at all. It’s loaded with omegas and frankly a ton of other veritable based nutrients.For the price - it is almost half the price of other salmon based dog foods. It’s a winner.

My doberman likes the new food. Since this is a more organic food than the other organic I was feeding her, I'm hoping some of her allergy issues to lessen.

Tried this dog food months ago in a smaller bag and different flavor. My dog LIVED IT. Since then we have gone through 2 LARGE BAGS. Then I happened to see this Salmon flavor on Amazon and I could NOT find it in any store. Yes, it was more money, but I sent for it any way. Madison lives it too. Everytime I have been at WALMART lately I have talked at least ONE person into buying the smaller bag and do what I did to see if their dogs like it. I have run into a couple of them since and they were buying the LARGE bag. Their dogs loved it too. I should be the sales person for the South in this food. I am impressed with what is NOT in it and what is in it. GREAT PRODUCT & WILL CONTINUE TO BUY OVER AND OVER. MADISON ALSO GIVES IT *****STARS! Check the photo.
