Fits HydroFlask 32oz wide mouth.
Fits HydroFlask 32oz (946ml) 18/8 Stainless Vacuum Insulated wide mouth perfectly. The o-ring it came with keeps liquids in and handle seems quite strong. The lid screws just over a 180 degrees (half turn) compared to the 450 degrees (1.25 turns) on the stock lid the flask came with. This makes removing the lid a lot easier since you can do it in a single motion versus having to spin the bottle or make 2 turns with the stock lid. Since it is metal on metal you can really snug it down tight. If you snug the stock lid down too tight you can pop the plastic threads. The other issue I had with the stock lid and the reason for this purchase is that the stock plastic lid with foam insulation would compress in on itself when air in the container expanded or compressed. Ultimately the plastic cracked. With this stainless lid the pressure difference between inside and outside the jar does not cause any compression on the lid whatsoever. The thermal insulation difference between the old plastic and new stainless lid is minimal.Side note, this lid also fits my HydroFlask 12 and 16 oz coffee mugs BUT it only attaches with about 90 degrees turn (1/4 turn!) so it would almost certainly come off and spill your coffee at some point. However, you can snug it down super tight and it wont leak. Finally, it looks better. Buy it.

No leaks, no breaks...all awesome
I was originally apprehensive about the cap because of some of the reviewers who said that it didn't have a gasket and that it "squeaked" or made noise when it was tightened. Yes, there is some metal-on-metal noise when you use it, but it holds tight and does not leak (despite the bottle sitting on its side for the better part of a day). It's great compared to the plastic lids with their plastic lanyards because I don't feel like this is going to break (I know they can, from experience). There is real security in having a heavy steel loop to hang the bottle from and the knowledge that it will not break. Overall, fantastic piece and I would gladly buy again.

Does NOT fit 64 oz Hydroflask
Does NOT fit 64 oz Hydroflask as advertised in the description. First, to get it to screw on at all, you really have to muscle it on. Once you get it screwed on, it will seem secure, but in fact it isn't. I filled a 64 oz Hydroflask container at my local brewery, screwed this cap on as tight as I possibly could, and took off for home. On the way home I heard a loud pop from my trunk. Fearing the worst, I pulled over and discovered the cap completely blown off my Hydroflask and beer spilled all over my trunk. It's safe to say this thing is NOT compatible with the 64 oz Hydroflask, despite the claim in the description that it fits.

best lid for the wide moth hydro flasks
This cap is so much better than the original one that came with my 40oz wide mouth hydro flask.I replaced the original because it broke after the bottle dropped just a few feet from a table. After some online research I found this lid made from steel and ordered it.It fit's perfect, yes of course it feels different than plastic when the lid is opened and closed, but therefore there are no more black crumbs from the plastic thread of the original lid and I can see no sign of wear on the bottle thread. The stainless steel lid keeps the temperature at least as good as the plastic lid, I think even better.I liked the original lid strap that prevents it from falling down, so I used scissors and punching shears to make it fit (see pictures).I had no issues with the original sealing ring, but I compared it with the one from the plastic lid and have to agree that it's probably better to use the thicker one from the old lid.I had no issues so far and love that solid lid for my favorite all day use water bottle.

Much better than the original Hydro Flask Flat Top Cap.
My son bought me an 18 oz Hydro Flask Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle which I hardly use. The reason is that while the bottle of the Hydro Flask is well built, the cap does not feel as well built as the bottle. The Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Flat Cap is rather flimsy and it is entirely made of plastic. I ended up using Klean Kanteen bottles for hot liquids as Klean Kanteen’s caps have stainless steel interior.I feel a little guilty for not using Hydro Flask as it is a gift from my Boy. So, I searched Amazon and bought this Hood River Stainless Steel Cap.The verdict is that this Hood River Stainless Steel Cap does fit and work. It is not perfect but it is good enough. I always read up on Amazon Reviews before I make my purchase so I do know some of its short comings which could be remedied with ease.I removed the Grip ring on the original Hydro Flask Cap and slip it on to the new cap which ease the opening and closing of the cap tremendously. Some reviewers said that the seal is not as good as the one on the original cap and suggesting to replace it with the old one. Since I do not detect any leakage so I am fine with it. If the seal needs replacement, there are plenty of replacement available. I think, the Klean Kanteen wide mouth one should fit and I have spares so, this should not be an issue down the road. This stainless-steel cap does work better with hot liquids but it did smell metal where I first received it. I just soaked it in a small bowl/dish with some used tea leaves with hot water overnight. I guess one could soak the cap in tea but why waste tea when used tea leave could do the job.Note: - Folks were asking that if this Hood River Stainless Steel Cap would fit Klean Kanteen Wide Mouth Bottles. Since I have these bottles, I tried them with this cap. This cap would fit either insulated or non-insulated Klean Kanteen Wide Mouth Bottles. On the flip side, Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Caps would fit the Hydro Flask bottles just as well. So, as far as I am concerned, these caps are interchangeable.I like the all stainless-steel construction but it is difficult to grip and open without adding the grip ring from the original Hydro Flask. While I have no issue with the seal so far but only time can tell. An alternative would be the Klean Kanteen Stainless Flip D-Ring Wide Mouth Cap. This one I have been using on my Klean Kanteen for years and it is holding up very well. However, if you want a cap with all stainless-steel construction, this Hood River cap is the one to purchase.
