Great metric only tape measure!
I recently spent several weeks working in another country that uses the metric system. (Basically everyone but the USA!) Anyhow, as I was doing some construction / carpentry projects with my son I was using 2 of his tape measures that he purchased across the pond. The scales on his tape measures had SAE and Metric markings. It was actually more confusing than you might think to have both scales. At times you could make mistakes by looking at the wrong markings. I use a Stanley FATMAX tape measure in the US so I looked for a metric only version. This tape measure is a beast. It's the HULK of tape measures. The metric only scale is clearly marked and the wide and stiff tape works really well when reaching out to longer distances. The blade lock works great but the super clear metric only scale is excellent. I love doing construction / carpentry with the metric system since it is so much easier. I just need the US to finally move to metric so I don't need two different versions. I highly recommend this product.

A Quality Centimeter Tape Measure
Inch and millimeter tape measures drive me nuts. Centimeters are much more intuitive, provided the project is entirely personal in nature. It also has the typical quality I've come to expect from Stanley's FatMax line.

America: Take note, metric is better.
USA carpenter here. Finish work and cabinet making is much easier with a metric tape. Finer scale, greater precision. Also much easier to perform arithmetic with decimal measurements instead of fractions.ALSO:The most common maximum length for material I work with is 16 feet. The regular 16 foot FatMax tapes (and, more recently, their Craftsman counterparts) don't actually read out to a full 16 feet. At 15 feet, things get tense and the spring won't let them pull farther than about 15'6" without feeling like it's going to break. So usually I carry a 25' tape at almost twice the size and weight just to be prepared in case I need those last few inches in a measurement.NOW:These here 5m tapes are just a little bit longer than 16', so even if the last few inches get pinched it is still possible to measure a full 16'. I always used to say Stanley should come out with a 17 foot FatMax. Well, here it is. Now I can carry a small tape and still get my full 16' measured when I need it.Also, Tajima makes a 5.5m tape measure that I've been eyeing...Sooner the US ditches their outdated imperial measurements, the better.

A true metric only tape measure
I'm a contractor so I use this take measure all day, every day. I make hundreds of measurements a day with this tape. It is a well built tape measure. It is really nice because it is a metric only tape measure so all the lines are easily visible compared to the tape measures that had metric and Imperial on them. The United States is the only big country still using the weird Imperial measurement system. Seriously we need to get on board with the rest of the entire world and use the metric system which is such an easier way to measure things. Sorry about the rant. This is a good quality tape measure but I'm giving it 4 stars because it isn't as smooth of a tape pullout and retract as the Milwaukee Stud 5M tape measure I have.

Metric is so much easier
Seriously, who actually likes fractions?!I had a ver complicated wall hang of 3 TV’s, a PS5, Amazon Echo 4th gen and an NVR.Since the studs were not where I needed them and everything was a little offset to center on the room there was a lot of measuring involved.I spend 3 days trying to mark it all up so I could put in the wood backing and the drill all the locations so everything is supported. Finally, I remembered that I not only learned the metric system in high school, but my time as a Marine only reinforced it.So I put down my crayon snack, got on the app and ordered this tape measure.Still a FatMax so a win there and it does 5 Meters.Tool me less than 20 min to lay it all out and start hanging stuff.Yeah, I could play the fraction game, but it is the pain. And for those of you who don’t know, metric is actually the official measuring system of the US.Apparently we as a populous refuse to bother.
