works great- be aware of battery life
Be aware that different Dell laptops use different pens. They are not inter-operable. I use this stylus for my Dell xps 13 inch. It works effortlessly. However, be aware of the batteries. The 2 small coin batteries in the top half of the pen drive the bluetooth. This is the battery that is shown in the capacity on the blue tooth interface. It is not related to the AAAA battery in the base. This AAAA battery is what drives the screen touch sensor. My battery lasts about 6 months. If you find the screen is not reacting to the pen, hi chance it is a low AAAA battery. I bought a bunch of them on amazon and carry an extra one around with me. Other than the battery issue, this pen works effortlessly.

DO NOT BUY if you don't own a Dell
I bought this pen for my HP Spectre x360 since it uses the same tech and for the first 7 or so months it worked flawlessly. After that it started having some issues where it acted like the battery was dying. I swapped out batteries and finally found that just removing the battery for a few minutes seemed to help but it slowly got worse to the point I contacted Dell to work on getting a replacement. After talking with them for 2 days now they're unwilling to repair or replace the pen unless I buy a Dell computer off the officially supported list to test it with.So if for ANY reason this stops working, even under warranty they will not support it unless you own one of the like 5 dells that are officially supported. Until now I'd highly suggest it, now I have to say stay away from this or any other Dell stylus as they will not support them.

Good buy for HP Spectre x360
Been using it with my HP Spectre x360 for 2 weeks and it works perfectly. Mainly use it for note-taking, and it doesn't make any noise in class. The only annoying thing is the buttons are usually right where I hold it, so I accidentally erase things constantly, but I think this can be fixed with more practice. It's weighted nicely so I sometimes feel like I'm just using a pen. The colors are nice, and the grip at the end make it easy to hold. Pressure detection is good. The only think is it's usually cheaper and faster to get from the Dell website directly, but it's currently not listed right now, but check there before buying.

Necessary Accessory for the HP Spectre x360
I bought this stylus for use with my HP Spectre x360 and I have to say it works very well. It was a lot cheaper than the HP brand one so I gave it a shot. I was first impressed when it immediately connect to my laptop right out of the box without having to do anything. I just put the battery in and started writing. This pen is perfect for taking notes, which I mainly use it for as a college student. Writing on it feels very natural. The buttons are very nice, though the erase button does not work with most desktop applications, such as OneNote desktop version. The erase button works perfectly with the "app" versions though. Construction wise the pen feels very high quality with the aluminum barrel and is balanced very well. It feels good in the hand.My one main issue with the pen, however, is that it started disconnecting from my laptop a lot within about 4 weeks of using it. I take the battery out and then put it back in then it reconnects. It may be battery related, but then again that would mean a very short battery life.Overall the pen is a necessary addition to the HP Spectre x360. It is way more affordable than the competition and seems pretty well built.

Questionable Reliability & Support
I purchased this stylus last September to use with my HP spectre x360 as many reviews here and elsewhere suggested that it worked better than the HP stylus for that product. The stylus worked well when I first received it, and was definitely good enough for simple drawings or taking notes on documents. Input wasn't perfect, but, per my understanding, that is the expectation for Synaptics devices. The pen is light and would be easy to hold for extended periods of time. It also matched the style of my laptop. After a few months of light use, the pen input just stopped working. The stylus pointer still tracks on the screen but I cannot click or draw in any program.I sat down again today to try and troubleshoot. Even with a new battery (the old one had died after no usage for several months) and updated drivers, the same problem persists. There is no service code on the pen and so no way to chat with or email Dell online about the warranty. If you are brave, you can try being passed around over the phone as a few customers with the same issue already did ([...]).I would not recommend this product. If you already have one, be ready to return at the first sign of trouble.

Wow, This Stylus is Actually Terrific!
I bought the Dell Active Stylus to use with my HP Spectre x360, and it works great! Pressure sensitivity is great, and palm rejection is very good. Regarding palm rejection, no matter what product or software you will use, you will need to train yourself a bit to get used to using it. I found that it was easy for me to get the pen tip near the screen before resting my palm onto the screen. Once there, palm rejection generally works well. But there are times when OneNote or my drawing app slides around unexpectedly. However, the more I use it, the less frequently it happens. That's what I mean by "training yourself". Overall, the pen has the right weight and tactile feel. It's very comfortable to use for long periods of time. I can easily recommend this stylus.
