Can you start songs with crossfader

Yes, it is a Fader start Relay switch in the middle of the Control panel, down at the bottom, you have a Volume control bottom on the right and on the Left and they are number one and two, your cross fader is at the bottom you will have to start playing one song, Use the cross fader to start sliding it over to the next song and the next song will start playing. You can do this back-and-forth, the manual will show you how to do all this, you can go on YouTube to show you how to do it all,

I have peavey passive speakers. do i need an amplifier and if so, what amplifier would you suggest?

Yes you will need a amplifier, I use the Gemini xG3000 and the Rockville RPA9, I have been using Gemini DJ equipment for 20 years, you can use any DJ amplifiers you want, just check and see want you want, Read the instructions on the amplifier you want, I want to try another brand of amplifier, Rockville is a good amplifier but I do like Gemini, hope this help!!!
