Homeschooling the kids this year and this abacus has been very helpful in explaining certain mathematical concepts to,our little guy.It’s set up like all abacus with 10 beads in each row (100 count in total). This wooden learning abacus helps in developing kid’s math skills; truly makes it easier to teach addition and subtraction.I remember my grandfather told me these were used as calculators in his time. Can’t imagine that, but after working with it, I can see how he used it.This set is made of natural wood with non-toxic paint. No phthalates or heavy metals, perfectly safe for our little guy.

This abacus is a wonderful tool to help your little one learn all types of skills. It is classically designed with bright colors, smooth sanded edges, a sturdy base, and countersunk fasteners. The natural wood has a nice matte finish and the beads are well-painted. No chips or scratches in the paint upon receipt. I was very happy to see that the paint and materials have been ASTM tested. BPA and heavy metal free also. Kids will inevitably be chewing on these types of toys, so that is really important. It is nicely sized, not too large or bulky, easy to pick up.

I got this for my daughters ages 5 and 7. They are currently learning common core math which they need to draw bubbles and then add basic math together like 6+9. This works great as they can count out 6 beads on one row then 9 on the second row. It not only gives them hands on learning but a visual representation of how the numbers are put together. I like this abacus but find the base is a little too light. I wish it had a sturdier base as the abacus has fallen over a couple times with just basic touch. Overall, it's a helpful tool for any household teaching math

Attractive abacus that is made well, with sanded edges for safety. Stands well on its own but is still very light and easy to move around. My 8 year old is using this to learn his times tables and is enjoying the movement of the beads. Yes, it’s for you get kiddos but I knew this would help with math homework. Great colors. Hold onto this for when your littles are in elementary school. It will help them visualize adding, subtracting and times tables.
