Works for Bed bugs
We had a bedbug problem and I'm writing this review to help other people who might have the same problem. There is a great, earlier review of successfully using DE to get rid of bedbugs. I agree 100% with the strategy of putting DE down everywhere they could possibly be hiding and waiting them out for at least a few months. Yes, your bedroom will look awful with white powder all along the baseboards but it is, obviously, worth it. DE is inexpensive and non-toxic, which makes it better than any other application option. Note: we also purchased a steamer to try to kill the bedbugs. This was a very expensive option and I really donโt know how well it worked. I once steamed my bed, bed frame, floor, baseboard, everything, put clean sheets on the bed and woke up with new bed bug bites the next morning. So, no, from my perspective the steamer didnโt work. In addition to the great suggestions made by an earlier reviewing using DE, I also want to suggest putting DE across your bedroom's door threshold at the floor. Any bugs that crawl from other rooms will have to walk through DE and that will kill them. We did that early on when we were desperate to stop the problem as quickly as possible. A few months in, and no new signs of bedbugs, we cautiously vacuumed up the DE on the thresholds. In the meantime, I had put DE behind all outlet covers just to catch any that might be coming up through the walls. (Yes horrifying to imagine but apparently that's what they will do to find you sleeping soundly in your bed in the middle of the night). 2nd Tip: We have a "four post" bed. This means that there are only a few places where our bed touches the floor (at the four corners of the frame and a couple of supports under the mattress). After awhile, I realized that if I put DE just at the posts, it would force any meal-seeking bedbug to walk through the DE to get to us. This idea evolved into finding sturdy plastic cups to put the DE in (and NOT bed bug traps because they are either too flimsy or too shallow, and potentially unnecessary if my theory works. Plus, bedbug traps are really expensive. I picked up my plastic cups from the dollar store). I put about an inch of DE in the bottom of the cup and picked up the bedframe and put the bed leg into the cup. Voila! Instant bedbug killing machine! I am the โbaitโ, the bed legs are the "on ramp", and the DE is the poison on their way to the bait. Having confidence in this approach, and not seeing new signs of bedbugs, I vacuumed up the rest of the DE in the room and only had the cups full of DE at the bed posts. I also got into the habit of washing all the bedding on the hottest, longest wash cycle and the hottest dry cycle for at least 40 minutes on high. This DID work, or so it seemed. The highest heat from the dryer is supposed to kill the bugs and their eggs. Twice I made the bed after washing the linens this way, walked out of the room, walked back in and found a single solitary bedbug on top of the bedding (apparently crawled out from the seams or someplace) wiggling in the clutches of death. That was very satisfying, as I think you can imagine. By the way, the heat in the dryer has to be a certain temperature. I put a thermostat in with my bedding to test the dryer and it got hot enough. This was a regular residential grade dryer. If you want to be sure your dryer gets hot enough, you may want to do a search on the internet for this temperature (I forget what it is) and then test your dryer similarly. Nothing beats the peace of mind knowing the dryer got hot enough to kill those things! Another tip: use all white bedding so you can see the signs of bedbugs. Bedbugs leave tell-tale stains on bedding that look like dots made from a felt-tip marker. We usually found those marks at the corner of the bottom fitted sheets, on the underside that touched the mattress. The marks were almost always near the top of the bed, closest to where our heads are. It is very hard to get these stains out of sheets, unfortunately. That caused me to take photos of the stains so I could compare them with future inspections. By looking at the photos from a week earlier, or a few weeks earlier, I could see whether there were any new stains. As you can see, this was an IMPORTANT part of monitoring whether we had gotten rid of the bedbugs. After applying DE, you may want to leave the room for the rest of the day for the dust to settle so youโre not breathing it in. I found the dust mildly irritating but nothing more than that. And, we absolutely needed to cover the mattress, the box spring and the pillows with bedbug proof covers. We bought the SafeRest brand it has worked really well. After all that, you just have to wait them out (prepare for a few months, at least because of their life cycle and the need to be absolutely sure the problem is gone). Those horrifying bugs will die a slow and awful death due to walking through DE. You will have only spent a few dollars โalthough it takes a lot of work and time โ but hopefully this approach will work for you too. GOOD LUCK!

Worked wonders as a bedbug pesticide, but a strategy is required
Having realized in horror that I had a mild bedbug infestation confined to my bedroom, I researched for the most effective, natural way of getting rid of them (I was not in the market to spend hundreds, let alone thousands, of dollars on chemical toxins that might not work that well). This led me to this product, step one of my strategy. Step two required learning as much as possible about this pest. So here's how I got rid of them: 1- Set my alarm clock to 2:30 AM. Woke up at this hour to find that's about feed time for this critters (averaging between 1:30 and 3:30 AM), so I was able to spot the hiding places from where they came out to get their meal. Does not matter if you turn the light on, they still come out. I did this for a whole month to monitor how many kept coming out throughout the DE powder treatment. 2- Using a duster, I applied as thin as possible a layer of DE powder around and underneath my bed frame, as well as the trail I was able to track from the hiding places towards my bed. Basically half my room. I also used a bit of the dust on the rest of the floor and any of the horizontal surfaces in it, but mainly the area around the bed and the hiding spots. 3- Since it was, thankfully, the early summer days, I was able to sleep without covers throughout the weeks in which I did the treatment. All bed covers, blankets, pillow cases and the like were sealed in bags in which I also applied the dust. I kept those tightly sealed for a good 3 months. 4- By the second week, I had come across and killed close to 23 of the suckers, but began seeing some dried out remains of what looked like dead bedbugs, but these could also simply be shed skins from molting, so I still did not remove the dust. I was no longer being bitten. 5- By the fifth week the bedbugs were not coming out anymore, but I did not remove the dust. 6- Three and 1/2 months had passed and it seemed the problem was solved, yet this parasite had me so paranoid that I kept waking up in the wee hours to see if anything was making its way towards my bed from anywhere around the room. I looked around the hiding places and found several of the dried out remains of the bedbugs. Success? 7 - By the fourth month I got tired of having a room full of dust and felt confident that my strategy had paid off, so I vacuumed the room. Took out the bags with bed covers, blankets and the like and found some more dried out shells of former bedbugs, picked them out of there and then put all that stuff in the washing machine. 6- Five whole months had passed, and even though the bedbugs had long stopped coming out, the trauma of having had a bedbug infestation kept me waking up at dawn and turning on the lights for a few minutes form many months. But to date (that's April 2013) there is no sign of them anywhere in my bedroom or anywhere else in my apartment, and even spider beetles (which can sometimes be confused for bedbugs but are not blood parasites) have disappeared. My bedbug problem happened a year ago and I was able to solve it in a matter of weeks, but it took me this long to write a review of the DE dust solution because of the fact that bedbugs can last a year without feeding, so in a worst case scenario the problem could have reappeared. But with a full year of bedbug freedom, I am confident to recommend Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth as a natural pesticide that did a wonderful job while being extremely cheap and non-toxic to boot. I only had to use less than a quarter of the bag (in fact, the duster still has some left-over dust from the one and only time I sprayed it). Note, however, that an effective treatment of eradication requires diligence. These parasites can hide anywhere, so you have to do your best at identifying their hiding spots, learning their schedules and taking precautions to not let them spread out anywhere else. Also, I do not suffer asthma, so I had no problem sleeping in my room while the dust sat on the floor, but if you do suffer from any respiratory issues, I would suggest staying in a different room or a different residence if possible for a few weeks. Every once in a while I still apply the dust around the bed, just in case, and ever since I started using it, I've never felt any discomfort, irritation, or any health issues at all, so from my perspective, this stuff is harmless. Remember, too, that this is the FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth, not the stuff used for swimming pool filters. Hope this helps.

Extremely effective against pests (patience and persistence required)
I'd just like to thank those tiny diatoms for giving us this wonderful remedy. I've seen this powder in action against bed bugs, roaches, fleas, ants, and mites, and it works magnificently. There are a few things you need to know before you purchase this miracle powder. 1. It's messy. If you are using it for pest control, you will need a duster. I have the pest pistol mini duster that is sold on amazon. The duster allows you to distribute it effectively. Many insects will walk around it if you put it on too thick, so buying a duster is necessary. 2. Most people will find it irritates their respiratory system. After it settles, it will not be as bad, but you should wear a mask while dispersing it around your home. I would advise you to do it right before you're leaving your house, so that it will be settled when you get back. I have used it in my home with small animals, and though it may cause some sneezing among members of your home, I don't believe it will do any longterm damage. 3. It takes patience and time to see results. You will find that it can take a few weeks to eliminate the pests from your home, and at first it might stir them up. This powder kills them by puncturing their exoskeletons and dehydrating them, but they can never become resistant to this method of pest control. That is the beauty of it. 4. Apply liberally to your home. Your method will vary for each type of insect. ANTS They will change their paths, but be sure to apply around base boards, windows, doors, pantries, cracks between refrigerator and stove, and anywhere you see them traveling. It doesn't have to cover your whole house. FLEAS It is much more difficult because they jump everywhere. You are going to want some type of topical or edible flea treatment from a veterinary clinic in addition to this. The DE isn't effective against eggs, so there lies part of the problem. You need to let it sit on carpet and furniture for at least two days, and then you need to vacuum everywhere, even on hard floors. Washing all the blankets, sheets, pillowcases, or any type of fabric is also helpful. Repeat this process as needed. BEDBUGS You need to apply liberally to all corners, baseboards, closets, drawers, mattresses, chests, couches, chairs. If you put it on too thick, they will walk around. You need a bedbug mattress protector as well as powdering your mattresses. At first, when you apply the DE, they will start coming out of hiding places and crawling away, but just be patient. Washing all linens and vacuuming after letting the powder sit for a few days is also important. Repeating this process is necessary as they can lie dormant without feeding for 6 months! Also, they typically wait to feed until you are in your deepest sleep, and they can sense that by the amount of CO2 you exhale. Wearing bug spray will help keep them away. ROACHES These are by far the easiest pests to eliminate with DE. You will need to apply to baseboards, corners, dark hiding spaces such as drawers, kitchen areas, and entryways. You will find them dead everywhere after a few days. MITES Scabies or "the mange" is very difficult to eliminate. It requires application to animals directly, and washing of all linens. You'll need medication from a doctor if you have scabies as well. This will help eliminate the mites from your house though. I don;t know as much about these, but i do know that washing all linens and bagging up stuffed animals is vital. 5. MANY PEOPLE CLAIM THAT THERE ARE A MYRIAD OF HEALTH BENEFITS TO BE OBTAINED FROM INGESTING DE IN FOOD OR DRINK. There has not been a lot of research to prove whether this is true or not, but many people swear by it. I know there are claims of improving cholesterol levels, healing heart problems, preventing oseoporosis, and general detoxification of the body. I do know that the main element that provides these benefits is silica. Most western medicine professionals will not recommend any type of natural remedy, so your doctor is unlikely to suggest this. They have the drug companies in their back pocket. Do your research and decide for yourself, but silica is a very important mineral that aids in the absorption of certain vitamins. I hope that these tips have been helpful to you. I know having pests in your house is a nightmare, and you certainly can eliminate them with a combination of this diatomaceous earth, patience, and persistence. Good luck to you!

Amazing product for myself, my dogs, my yard - internal and topical.
This stuff is hands down, the most amazing product I have ever come across. I notice a difference in my overall health when I use it. It takes me about three days to adjust to it. I do start to feel sluggish, tired, and I have runny stools, runny nose, and flu like symptoms around the third or fourth day but then everything becomes normal. I believe it is because the diatomaceous earth is detoxing everything from my body. I can't speak for anyone else but for me, it improves my digestive system, my nails, skin, and hair are much healthier, and I have a lot more energy. I notice the energy levels because I usually drink 2-4 cups of coffee a day but when I am taking the DE, I can only drink 1 because my energy levels are much higher. It also seems to curb my appetite and I don't eat as much, and I get full faster. It reduces the bloat and water retention I often have as well. I also use it for my dogs, they are on the same schedule as me. We take it for 30 days they we take a break for 30 days then back on for 30 days. They are so much healthier as well. They also experience some minor detox symptoms also - same as mine, runny stool, sluggish, and runny noses around day 3/4 but then it goes away and they have a ton of energy after that. We recently moved to TN and encountered a serious flea infestation and this was how I was introduced to DE. NOTHING we used worked! NOTHING! And I refuse to put any chemicals on my dogs. My poor dogs had flea bites so bad on their lower backs they were scabbed, and that was with daily bathing and combing. IT WAS INSANE! I would bathe them and literally watch the fleas run and hide inside their eyes, ears and anal area. I literally cried because nothing was working. I bought some DE and dusted them down and bathed them with organic, chemical free, flea and tick shampoo the next day. Every single flea on them was dead! I was amazed! I am not exaggerating, they were all dead! Then we dusted the house, floors, rugs, bedding, mattresses, closets, and furniture - yes, it was a dusty mess (use a dust mask and make sure nobody, including your animals, are in the house when you do it, the dust really does irritate eyes and nose) but it was better than dealing with fleas. After three days we vacuumed and washed everything. Additionally, we sprayed the fenced in dog area of our yard with a mixture of DE and water - every three days we treated the yard. It was a lot of work but well worth it because it got rid of all of them. You do have to work through the flea cycle though, so we dusted them down and let it stay on them for three days them bathed them - we did this for 8 weeks to make sure we caught all the the ones that may hatch from any eggs they laid. Vacuuming daily and washing bedding once a week also helped. I do keep some in their dog beds all the time now. It also got rid of our spider, cricket , hornet, and ant problem. That was a bonus because we were not expecting that. I told my neighbor about it because they moved here a few years ago and they have not been able to get ahead of the fleas in their yard, and their house since. They use the harsh chemicals on their dogs and still have problems. They treated their house, dogs, and yard, and have been flea free since. This stuff really works. You do have to maintain everything though. Just because it works doesn't mean it will prevent them from reoccurring. The only time we see a flea on our dogs now is when we take them to someone else house or to the groomer, or vet, where other pets may have them. However, we just got into the routine of dusting them down before we bring them home then bathing them the next day. We also use an herbal flea collar and herbal topical as a preventative. Like I said, it is more work but we refuse to use chemicals on our pets or on ourselves. Everyone is different but the only caution I have other then breathing the dust, is for my dogs, I don't leave it on them more then 3/4 days because it tends to dry out their skin and they get itchy, dry skin. The same with my skin, it will dry it out so after bathing them I rub some organic coconut oil into their skin and coat and works great.

Good food grade quality.
Works as it should. Been ordering for several years. Now I see itโs gone up first 26% the 57% from just January 2024 and itโs August 2025 now. WHY?? I used to live in the suburbs now, I have animals and live in the country so I thought I would stick to what I used for pest control in my house and the occasional drinking for a slight cleanse. Now Iโm thinking I might just go to the feed store and buy that when you can get 5-10 times as much for half the price. Yes, it wonโt be food grade but Iโm not eating it anymore anyway.

I killed candida, have super strong nails, and NO MORE ANTS!!!
I had been a lifelong sufferer of "too much yeast".... candida.... and a few years ago, became allergic to the only medicine that would get rid of a yeast infection (Diflucan). I searched and searched and found DE, read the reviews, and decided to give it a shot. ALL I CAN SAY IS --- IT HAS SAVED MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started taking DE on November 4, 2016. I didn't start slow - I started with 2 tablespoons every morning. Just stir it up in some cranberry juice, and down it fast. Yes it's a little gritty, but there is really no flavor (especially if you take it with something as strong as cranberry juice). It was around mid-December that I noticed the "bacteria die-off" happening. I read about it so I was prepared, but WOW. They aren't kidding!!! You will go through a phase where all those nasty bacteria and yeastie-beasties are dying off inside you; and you may feel flu-like, tired, brain foggy, and...... a tad "sensitive" in the girly parts. WOMEN, this die-off in the girly parts is NOT ANYTHING like a horrid yeast infection! Hard to explain but things just feel rather sensitive (warn your better half you will need to abstain until the die off is over, trust me). There are ways around this die off phase, though. 1: Get yourself some Molybdenum 250 mcg, found right here on Amazon. It was a savior during this die off phase and REALLY helped through the weird symptoms! 2. Get yourself some Vitanica Yeast Arrest , homeopathic Formula, 28 Vaginal Suppositories - also here on Amazon - if you are a lady and you get a tad sensitive down in the girly parts - these are actually quite heavenly! They have soothing tea tree oil in them, and if you keep them in the fridge (as suggested), the cooling effect is pretty amazing! It made things bearable during that week or two things were sensitive. The yeast died off FOR GOOD about 6 weeks after I started taking it... and I mean FOR GOOD! I used to sneeze and get a dang yeast infection! Or if my blood sugar dropped for some reason or if I ate a donut or the sky turned blue - I mean anything would cause them because I was SO FULL of candida! I am happy to say I killed candida off for good and it's ONLY thanks to this DE! It's a HUGE bag, too! Here it is late June and I am just now needing to reorder. So, the 10 lb bag will last at least 8 months (or more, depending on how much you ingest daily). Note, I also use this around doors and windows as well as my pets food bowls (two cats, two dogs). We had a horrible ant problem, those darn ants would come in and head straight to the pets food and water bowls. =( Not any more! I sprinkled some around where the bowls are located, and at entry points where the ants were coming in... NO ANTS THIS YEAR! If you have cats, you can also mix just a little bit into the litter box; as long as the box is covered - the dust won't go anywhere, and it helps GREATLY with controlling odor. We have an aging cat whose urine was getting rather stinky (ammonia smell); but the DE makes the litter boxes very pleasant!!! (can't believe I called a litter box pleasant, but ... it is...) On a side note; my fingernails used to be VERY brittle and fall apart. A very nice and unexpected side effect of ingesting DE daily is my nails are KNIFE SOLID.... growing long and strong and beautiful. No more fake nails for me! And regarding hair growth? That's also a major plus! I had a pretty severe illness in late 2015 (my appendix exploded, THEN I got C-Diff)...... after all this happened and all the meds I was on, my hair began to thin out. BIG TIME. I thought maybe it was just because I was getting older.... but no.... my body was in recovery from the appendix going buh-bye. Anyhoo another great thing about DE is it makes your hair grow faster and very strong! I have a thick head of hair now after being on this stuff for 8 months, and I will never turn back! BUY IT! Your body will thank you!

Bought it for fleas but also using it for personal health
I just received this on July 4th (I was happily surprised it was actually delivered on a holiday). The only differences between what I ordered and what I received was instead of a single 10-pound bag, I got 2 5-pound bags, which actually I was happy about because I can store one bag and use one - with less being "exposed to the elements" so to speak. Only other difference - and maybe it's because they have it a bit different for 5 vs 10-pounds, but the bag had blue on it instead of green. Obviously something that is not important at all. Now onto the important stuff. I bought this because I have been plagued with a flea infestation. I researched natural ways to get rid of fleas because I want ways to be more healthy and to save money. I tried some things such as using essential oils and manually combing my pets and trying to dose them in blue Dawn liquid soap (not very easy when trying to get a cat wet though). I was killing some fleas but it was getting so bad that I was becoming part of the menu and my ankles and feet were covered in red flea bites. By this time, I'm feeling the pain and my dog had chewed away portions of her fur. I broke down and gave her a dose of the Frontline spot treatment and that seemed to help a lot, so I ordered some for my cats (which I have not received yet). But at the same time, I wanted something for the carpets and remembered hearing about diatomaceous earth - so after a bit more research, I figured it was cheap enough and natural so it wouldn't hurt to try. While reading reviews I kept noticing that people talked about ingesting it themselves. So after doing more research I decided to try it myself. Heck, I'd already bought it to try to kill the fleas, why not see what it does for me health-wise. I really don't have any major physical/health issues. I want to lose weight but it isn't actually causing health issues as of yet. So weight loss is more about vanity and preventing future issues. I have tried drinking apple cider vinegar for weight loss but I just can't deal with the taste. I can chug some down in water a couple days in a row then I start dreading it so much. I have tried the DE in flavored (peach) sweet tea, oatmeal, and cold and room temperature water. I can deal with the taste so much better than apple cider vinegar and don't dread drinking it. In fact, I have been having it twice per day already. To me it's best in a flavored drink such as the sweet tea (just makes it cloudy looking and gives it that texture like it was made from a powdered mix) so I also want to try it with different juices. I couldn't even detect it in oatmeal and I find cold water more palatable than room temperature. So far I haven't noticed anything yet as far as benefits OR side effects for myself personally. But it's only been 4 days at this point. Luckily since I don't mind drinking it, it won't be an issue to stick with it long enough to actually see some benefits. I'm keeping a journal to document how I consume it, what I ate, and what I notice each day. I have high hopes for it since I've heard a lot of great testimonials. Besides weight loss, I'm hoping it will help with my sleep (I don't have insomnia but I am fairly dependent on over the counter sleep aides and still it can be hit or miss if I sleep enough or deeply enough). I'm also looking forward to beauty specific benefits like stronger, faster growing nails; improved skin; and hair. Fingers crossed it will help my vision too. I underwent LASIK over 8 years ago and until the last few months I didn't need glasses. Still don't for the most part except for driving at night. I've heard some people's vision - particularly night vision has improved after taking DE for awhile. So what about why I originally bought this stuff in the first place - the flea problem? Well, it seems to be working! I work from home and while sitting in my office I was getting attacked really bad - so I put some DE into a jar with a handle and a sprinkle lid and sprinkled it on the carpets and on my pets. I am letting it set in the carpet for awhile - haven't vacuumed it up yet but after spending hours in my office today (first day back since the holidays) I noticed I still had a few fleas nibbling on me but not nearly as many! So I know it's working - I just need to be a bit more pro-active in using it and doing all the steps. I'm also feeding it to my pets (1 dog who is over 12 years old and 2 cats that are almost 5 years old). My dog had been getting a lot of extra eye "goop" but I swear it is already starting to lessen considerably in just 4 days. I'm hoping it will help her coat since she chewed up patches of fur because of the fleas. One thing I have noticed is that it is not nearly as dusty as others have made it out to be. I haven't noticed it puff around me so I haven't had to worry about inhaling it. I did order one of the pumps that is supposed to help get it into cracks and crevices so I'll use that as well when it comes in. When the weather dries up a bit (and I get my lawn mowed) I plan on putting it around the perimeter of my house and in the yard for good measure. A few other uses I've already tried so far - made a "face mask" and have used it while brushing my teeth. It definitely helps make your teeth feel and look really clean. Also plan to use it for cleaning - I'm a big fan of baking soda and white distilled vinegar and I think DE will be a good additive to the mixes I make. I've even heard of people using DE in baking and cooking - replacing regular white flour with DE. I plan on experimenting with that. I'll update after I've taken it long enough to notice any benefits. At least I'm already seeing results with my original need - flea elimination. It's working but it isn't as fast as chemicals - but that's ok since being patient and using DE should be the better solution overall. Of course, an important factor with seeing results with anything is being consistent and diligent in taking it. I've had problems with consistently taking things in the past (apple cider vinegar) but I don't think I'll have any problems with taking DE because it isn't unpleasant to take.

Awesome is definitely understatement!
I came to make an update on my review I had written a little over a year ago and accidentally deleted it so I'm attempting to cover the points I had made before as well as the updates I was going to add. It will be quite long because I've had great results this past year, so bear with me...I will try and group the different benefits by paragraph to make it a bit easier to read through. I purchased this for the first time a year ago....started out with the 2lb. bag and since it proved to be awesome, I purchased the 10lb. bag ...and it is a much better value! My husband and I are still on the 10 pound bag we purchased last March...we have about 1/4 a bag left! Granted, we haven't used it for anything else other than consuming it...so if you're using it for other things around the house, it may go a bit quicker for you. So I started taking it originally because I heard many stories raving about how great it is for your skin and hair. I have an auto-immune disease that affects my thyroid (which had made me mostly hypothyroid) and have other health related issues, such as hormone imbalance and a few different vitamin deficiencies that has had such a big impact on my hair. My whole life I have had really thick, curly and healthy hair that people were always complimenting....it may seem a bit vain but when I got sick my hair started falling out, it had become super dry and brittle, lost most of it's curl and it just wouldn't grow much at all. I had been taking Biotin (20,000 mcgs a day- with docs approval!), Vitamin E and D3, collagen, and super primrose oil capsules (to name a few!) and that's not including all the natural hair treatments and products I would put on it... and diet changes for my health. After all that(a couple years of doing so) I finally got a bit of shine and improvement but it just was not as healthy as it had been and with all the difficult changes in my health over the last few years...the hair changes felt like the "cherry on top" of it all. Then I hear about Diatomaceous Earth a little over a year ago in a thyroid group online, and it's many benefits. I felt a little hesitant because I fork out a lot of money on vitamins that I need and have tried some that just didn't seem to do much. To say Diatomaceous Earth has been really beneficial is definitely an understatement. I noticed an improvement in the health of my hair within a couple months-- and that includes growth which is something that would not happen with all the other supplements combined!! Now- a little over a year later and the length has grown several inches, it's really shiny, no longer brittle and my curls are back to how they were before. I get compliments on my hair again-even from strangers and my hair stylist talks about how healthy it is now. Maybe I sound like a cheesy ad raving about a product- but honestly I can't help but rave. After having such an unexpected and difficult change in health, it's nice to have something that makes me feel a little more like the "old me" even if it's just my hair! To my surprise another huge benefit was an over all sense of well being. I can't exactly pin point what exactly it is that feels better....over all bit more energy. I've noticed that if I go even a couple days without taking it I just feel a bit more lousy and sluggish. I wouldn't say it is a miracle cure to the fatigue that comes with thyroid disease...but would say it works so well that it's a must for my supplement routine-- it's one of the best I've used. Another...ehhh, um..."surprise"...not long after starting DE...which is not fun to really discuss but will for the sake of it being so important for health...is that it killed off parasites I didn't even know I had! (If you have them and the DE is ridding of them it will be very noticeable when you use the restroom ๐ท๐ฏ) It was rather disturbing to me experiencing all of that but at the same time I realized it was a really good thing I had started taking D.E. or I may have never known I had them. My doctor and I think it may have been from taking a cruise to Mexico the month before...but it's apparently pretty common to have them and not know! It took a couple weeks and a follow up tests with my doctor "to be in the clear". If you Google DE benefits for parasites you will find it's so effective because it "physically" kills them off so they can't build a resistance to it like they would to typical parasite medicines. Also-it was once I worked my way up to taking 1-2 tablespoons a day of the DE is when I started to notice the whole parasite issue (I will list at the end of the review the way I took it). I lost 10 pounds within the first month of starting DE....maybe it was directly related to the parasite issue, I'm not sure...but I didn't gain it back so that was a nice benefit! Last thing I can think of is it improved the strength of my nails. They had become so brittle that I could not grow out the length of my nails because they would break so easily. A year later and they are really strong and a lot longer....however, I still have bad ridges in them. Which is supposed to be common with my health issues but I had been hoping it would improve since nothing else has worked yet...but then again maybe it will just take more time. How to take DE: It's best to start small and work your way up to avoid your body getting sick from ridding of too many toxins at once. I first started taking only 1/2 teaspoon a day, for a few days then increased to 1 teaspoon a day- which I did for about a week. Then I started 1 TABLEspoon for a couple days...and over the next couple days worked my way up to 3-4 tablespoons a day. If you increase and aren't adjusting well over the next couple days, you can cut back and increase a bit more slowly. I just put it in a glass of water and swish it around to mix it up (supposedly it's best to not use a metal utensil to stir). It dissolves pretty easily but sometimes after finishing the glass there's some left at the bottom so I just add a little more water and swish around again. It doesn't really have a taste it's just a bit chalky. The only "side effect" I noticed at first was brain fog for a couple days...and even now if I don't take the DE for at least a couple days and start again I've noticed that I get brain fog for usually only a day. Make sure to drink extra water through out the day....especially since some people say it can cause constipation...if it does one I suggest a good magnesium supplement and fiber of course...but also like other people say I'm no doctor so you may want to discuss it with yours as well as researching what's best for you! Storing- since it's such a big bag, we pour it into a medium sized Pyrex bowl and keep in our cabinet to scoop from everyday. The big bag we keep closed tight- rolled up with a food clip and then keep in an ice chest in our pantry that we rarely use- seems to work well because of the size and keeps it closed air tight. As far as recommending it- I think you can tell from my extra long review that I'm a big fan of Diatomaceous Earth. I've made several family members start using it as well...including my husband who takes it everyday and has had great success as well!

Greatest healing product i've ever seen
Wow, just wow. I didn't even knew that such a product could exists. The health benefits are crazy good. I bought the DE because i had worms. Lotsa worms and before going to the doctor i thought, hey lets go check online if there is something useful against worms. My first search in google got me this magical powder. Read a bit about it then i came to amazon to buy it. Mind you, i've been using it for only 1 week at 2 tea spoon a day. Here are the results i got: - The worms are getting killed all right. My 'region where the sun don't shine' has stopped itching almost completely(One of the worm sign). My mind is clearer, i have less fatigue and i can sleep a whole lot better at night. I get uninterrupted sleep, something i had not seen in years! I also seem to have lost my stomach ulcers. Before, when i woke up, i could not lazy long in bed because i got stomach pain, but now i somehow can lazy around all morning with no problems! DE make me lazy!!! ;-) - I'm a guy with a oily head. Always had that problem as long as i can remember. And of course, it itch all the time. Well after one week, bye bye oily head! Now it itch almost never and my hair have grown back or they became much thicker than before. After all the hair regrowth treatments and anti-itching skull products i've tried over the year who got me nothing, 1 week of DE get me results that must be seen to be believed. It's THAT good. And my hair somehow stay shiny. Even after 2 days without showering, they still look good. - My skin somehow looks better, especially in my face (But then, it's the part you watch the most). I wish i had known DE when i was 15 and full of pimples, it could have helped quite a bit with my greasy skin. - I have an acoufen (constant ringing in the ear) for years. Now it's almost gone. I can barely hear it anymore. I can't believe it how great it is to not hear that crap all day long! About the product itself: - I'm in canada and i bought on monday, they shipped on wednesday and i got it on friday. With the 'free shipping'. Very fast shipping. - The image of this product doesn't do it justice. You see a little bag and you say to yourself, bah 10 pounds is not a big bag. How very mistaken you are my padawan! This product is the same consistency as floor, so it is very very light. 10 pounds bag is a biiiig bag. Imagine a 10 pounds floor bag and you will be close to it. - The price is fantastic. I've checked a bit and for that much of the product, you pay very little. - The quality is godly. From the results i got in only 1 week? Yeah thats fantastic quality right there. - The product is non-toxic for humans (including children, babies even), pets, dolphins, elephants. But it kill all sorts of bugs plenty fast.
