A wonderful addition to the Late Night Tales collection
A wonderful addition to the Late Night Tales collection. I own eleven (11) of these compilations and they are all fantastic. This one in particular is the most hip-hop oriented of all the one's I have so far. If you are a fan of underground hip-hop, you may especially love this Late Night Tales. There are also some great indie tracks from Simian Mobile Disco and the Rapture as well. And all of the tracks are masterfully mixed so that each song flows into the next.If you haven't yet purchased a Late Night Tales CD, I highly recommend that you start. If you like obscure tracks from to unwind to, they are perfect. Enjoy.<<<<<<Disclaimer: THIS IS NOT AN ARCTIC MONKEYS CD>>>>>>>>

Interesting & Diverse Selection
I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of the Arctic Monkeys. Despite the rave reviews and raving fans, they are a band that are a bit hit and miss to my ears. Some great songs and some that leave me unimpressed. Nevertheless, I AM a huge fan of this "Late Night Tales" series of various artist compilations. I ALWAYS find something new and interesting on these albums, and this one is on exception. There are a few too many hip-hop tracks on this CD for my tastes, but even some of those started to grow on me after a few listens. All in all, this is a very interesting and diverse mix of songs. There were only a handful of songs on here that I had heard before --- tracks by The Black Keys, the Stooges, and Minnie Riperton --- and I MUST have heard this great Johnny and the Hurricanes song from 1960 at some point in my life --- but the rest of these songs were all new discoveries, and I love getting turned on to new music, even if some of the hip-hop flavored tracks (and there are a bunch of 'em!) didn't excite me too much. Among the tracks that DID turn me on were the ones by Goblin (a very obscure song from 1981), Yamasuki (an equally obscure track from 1971), Little Barrie (much more recent, from 2005, and produced by the great Edwyn Collins of Orange Juice fame), and a song by the very underrated band The Coral. Even some of the hip-hop stuff, like Mos Def and Roots Manuva, was pretty darn cool. Plus, the cover of "Dreamer" by Matt Helders and Nesreen Shah is dyanmite. The CD comes with a 12-page booklet that includes comments on each track by Matt Helders of the Arctic Monkeys. If you aren't a big fan of the Arctic Monkeys --- or even if you are --- chances are that you will find some new and very interesting music on this collection.

This one didn't have the same effect
This series has introduced me to a lot of music. With each one of these discs that I purchased, I would play the disc and have to keep picking up the CD case to see who I just listened to. Over and Over. That is what brought me the joy of this series. The "discoveries" that awaited on these discs. However, this one, not one "discovery" or revelation for me. I never played it a 2nd time. This disc did not have the same effect as the others.

Superb mix!
Don't be bothered by the negative review, which seems to be based more on the reviewer's disappointment at not having read the info on the CD before ordering it. This is not an Arctic Monkeys CD per se, but rather a mix of some their favorite songs--by other artists. A really great mix!

Arctic Monkeys fans are sure to love!
Well, originally I bought this stupidly thinking it was an Arctic Monkeys album in itself. Later i researched latenighttales and found out exactly what kind of company they are. What it is is this: Matt Helders, drummer for Arctic Monkeys, compiled his 20 favorite songs onto this disc. I was unsure after hearing this, but it came today and I just listened to it. It is simply incredible. Since he is a drummer, there are some songs that have incredible drum beats in them. Very cool album, Arctic Monkeys fans are sure to love!

Raccolta inutile
Sì tratta di una raccolta di brani selezionati, e non suonati, dal batterista degli Arctic MonKeys. Tanto piacevole quanto inutile.
