Victron products are solid and communicate well with other victron products. I needed this for my sprinter van build and it has good quality craftsmanship and victron has good customer service. The apps communicate well and good instructions on how to install and use. Solid product. It does warm up a little bit and charges well.

Excellent product for alternator charging my trolling motor lithiums on the water...keeps them topped off.

This is a nicely built unit which is why I gave it 2 stars and I do like most Victron products, however it doesn't work right on my 2021 Sierra 3500 HD truck to charge the RV batteries. The truck has a 30 Amp fuse to the 7-way trailer pin (4) and the truck is long, however after doing a bit more digging it appears the wiring needs to be a an 8 awg at least from the truck run to RV, well it isn't and what occurs is a cycling event. The cycle starts with detecting the start voltage from the truck and determines "yea verily" it is a good signal then starts to charge (and predetermined in the Orion-Tr 12/24 -15 setup), then it draws the current and voila the wiring can't handle that kind of current and draws the voltage down then the unit shows errors and disconnects (which is probably very good because it could've melted the wiring in the truck), then it the cycle starts all over, very frustrating that Victron didn't put a current throttle on the Orion-TR like they do on the Victron Inverter it could've saved me a lot of heartache. Well I determined that this will become my boat anchor and I'll be relying on solar, shore and generator for charging the RV battery.

Install was pretty straight forward. Didn't like that they gave wire diameter in mm not gauge. We buy, 2,4,6,8. Just tell us who one. Second thing was that the contacts for the cables were packed very close together which could allow one of the many fine wires in the marine battery + cable to reach the ground wire and short. Otherwise it was easy to install. The Bluetooth password pin is on a label on the side, the one suggested in the app did not work.
