LOVE this timer!
I cannot express how much I love this timer! I searched through dozens of options before coming across this timer. We recently remodeled our bathroom and previously had a heating lamp light in the ceiling which was connected to an old turn dial 15 minute timer. We loved the timer switch because it mean that it could never be left on for an extended amount of time. The first requirement that needed to be met was finding a timer that did not require a neutral wire. This one only requires a ground wire (3 wires - red, black, green vs 4 wires - red, black, green, white). We have a light above the shower and a small ceiling exhaust fan connected to this and it works wonderfully. My absolute favorite thing about this is that the green indicator light will move accordindly as it counts down. For example, if you choose the 60 minute setting and it begins counting down - when it reaches the 30 minute mark, the green indicator light at the 30 minute button will now illuminate... and when it reaches 15 minutes, the 15 minute button illuminates and so forth. When it is about to shut off, the indicator light on the main switch to the right will repeatedly blink until it shuts off.Other helpful things:- The light is bright enough to be seen without mistake but it is not overly bright and is not a nuisance in the dark.- You can choose a timer setting, with the ability to override/shut off the light by using the main button on the right hand side. You can also use the button to turn the light on continuously without a timer countdown.- The directions include instructions on how to change the timer settings if you desire (however I did not/it seems silly because the printed times on the buttons wont match if you change the times) but I did think that was a cool option.- The buttons don't seem as cheap as some of the reviews made it seem. I mean they are plastic, but if you aren't slamming the buttons down, especially because there is no need to do so, then they should last a long while.- Does not come with a face plate, but those are easy enough to pick up and it's a standard size so no worries about it fitting properly. This has been installed for a few weeks now and we have had no issues at all. I love this product and highly recommend purchasing it. I think it's features are great and much better than some of the other options and it's at a reasonable price. Not cheap enough to worry about having issues sooner rather than later, but not absurdly expensive where you expect it to be made out of gold! And if you cannot tell from the pictures, I purchased a white faced one.

So far so good. I bought 3 of these for my bathroom ...
So far so good. I bought 3 of these for my bathroom fans, I've only received one so far so this is just based on that, hopefully the other two work just as well and this will keep it's rating. I prefer this "accell" style over the curved "aspire" style, though something tells me the plates are probably interchangeable between the two. The local hardware store that carries cooper only had the aspire, so I ordered the "Accell" style on amazon. I'm using them with some lutron diva switches with claro 2-gang plates and they look good and are working great so far.I debated over many switches, but ultimately my wife and I decided we wanted something we can just press the time on a button, no scrolling through presets or anything like that like some other switches. I would prefer if they had a neutral on these, but they work for my application so it didn't matter. I did read these might leak some power through ground, which is almost the same as having neutral given it's typically connected to ground at the box, but it's definitely iffy if that's the case. I haven't tested it to confirm though. Even so, they haven't tripped any breakers and i'm using them in bathrooms with GFCIs. They definitely have a relay inside of them from what I gather, which is probably required given its 1800w rating.I did read a few reviews talking about issues with the buttons, either too tight or cracked or what not - I made sure to be extra careful to get fitment right and not have the plate putting any pressure against this thing. The claro plates I used also help with that since they let you adjust the fitment before you snap the outer plate on, and you can really get things centered nicely that way. I'll be curious how they hold up, so I'll try to post a followup in a few months. They do let you override the timer and hold-on if you press and hold the "off" button down. I sort of just guessed it would let you do that and sure enough it does. Apparently there's also a way to change the time periods as well, but then your button labels won't match, and I have no real desire to do that anyway, the 60 min max is perfect for bathroom fans. Would probably be nice if there was a way to turn off the bypass mode like the lutron's do, but it's not the end of the world. It was pretty much a close call between these and the maestro timers, but ultimately we ruled these easier to use, we'll see how true that remains once we have some guests over....

Works well, only 1 flaw
Pros...- Multiple colors- No neutral required- Easy to install- Timers are accurate- Looks nicer than expectedCons...- When installed it needs to be perfectly flush with your face plate. Anything other than light pressure on the sides of the switch from the faceplate will cause the buttons to stick or not work at all. This seems like a design flaw to me as the front of the switch seems to shift a bit with pressure instead of being a solid unit. Overall it was annoying more than anything. Note that I have a GE switch that is similar and is totally solid... just didn't come in the color I needed so I went with this one. I'd recommend the GE switch over this as it's a nicer unit and cheaper, but it only comes in white.Example of my issue above: switch was not perfectly flush, maybe a mm lower on the left side (hardly noticeable, honestly). When I put on the faceplate and screwed it down with even moderate pressure, the 30 and 60 min buttons would not work as they were jammed/stuck in place. If i took all the pressure off of the screws and let the faceplate float, they would work. I ended up jimmying it around quite a bit and loosing the screws anchoring the switch to the box so the switch was floating. Still ended up having to shim the bottom and keep the faceplate screw loose on the bottom to ensure the 60 minute button would be clickable AND trigger off when the time was up.

Almost perfect. Effectively 5 stars, but more like 4.5 (read on)
This timer switch is very easy to install but I did have to call support when I connected only 3 of the 4 wires and the result was the fan turned on and stayed on and the switch did nothing. The reason for this was the 4th wire which is white (for neutral) with a green sleeve. While the switch does not NEED a neutral, if you do have one, that's what that 4th wire is for. I don't have a neutral so I didn't know what to do with it. Well, the green sleeve (I presume) is to suggest that if you're not using the wire for neutral is MUST be connected to ground. So TWO green wires are for ground. Simple enough. And it worked, however, if it doesn't it means you must have a neutral. The physical dimensions are not overly huge so it should fairly easily fit in any box. The buttons are programmable but I prefer to keep the original settings as the time matches what's indicated on the buttons. The only down side I experienced was that some of the buttons can be a little sensitive to any pressure that may be applied to the switch housing during installation. In my case, the 60 minute button would light up when pressing 15 or 30. I purchased 3 switches and this was exhibited only on one, but I think I read that someone else had this happen in another review. As long as there's no pressure within the box or from the faceplate then it should be fine. I'm exchanging one for a new one in the hope that I get another like the other 2.I have 3 Panasonic Whisper fans in my bathrooms that are very low power. This can be a problem with certain no-neutral switches - I don't really understand why, but I know that it's NOT a problem with my Panasonic fans.

Works well, but, a bit pricey.
This is an eaton timer switch; there are so many brands available on Amazon, most of which may give you a major headache or be a big challenge on the quality and longevity fronts. I have not had all the problems with that other posters described with other switches, it's also possible that they are not being used correctly or are being subjected to unstable power and are a little sensitive. This switch just works, and comes with the trim facia for different colors in the box. This is also available for at least 10$CAN less in my local hardware store, but I decided to try ordering one from Amazon.Very happy with this timer. By the way, whether this timer or another brand, timer switches are not meant to be poked too hard; they are just plastic and can break.Bonus that you can buy a different style face trim (style) for this switch to change the style to something more "dramatic".
