Streamline Pearl Izumi Shorts
Been riding 150+ miles a week in Pearl Izumi shorts for years. Thought I would use these for my Triathlon Sprint.First: padding is very minimal, good for the swim, kinda slim for my than 20 miles on the bike.Second : Padding is not sewed on as nice as their biking shorts. No problems yet, but I bet they won't hold up as long.Fit: I'm 5'10" 190lbs 32 waist about 10 percent body fat. I am wearing large and they are right on point. Great grip on thighs. Drawstring ensures and extra tight waist for the swim. Helps with drag for sure. I love this brand and hope these shorts will be as food as my others. I will update when I've done a few races with them.

Good shorts
I have several pair of PI bike shorts. These are different. The material is thin and more spandex-y....it's different than the bike shorts. I used them in my first sprint triathlon. I used them in spin class prior to the triathlon and also ran in them on the treadmill. NO problems from rubbing or ill-fitting. I cannot speak to their comfort on a longer event, but they were good for my purpose.I speculate that for a longer event (Ironman) that you may want a higher-end short. however, these are perfect for my sprint event

Runs a bit small
I'm 5-11, 175, 33 inch waist and the Medium is a bit tight. You might want to go up a size. Also, these shorts seem to be "unisex" where it matters most, if you get my meaning. The combined effect of smallish size and lack of accommodation is somewhat uncomfortable. On the positive side, the padding is about right, neither too much nor too little for my biking purposes.

Proven in a 24hr adventure race
I wore these for a 24hr adventure race and was pleased. I was worried my backside would get overly sore with 90+ miles of biking but faired no worse than I’d expect to in fully padded bike shorts. They held up well over 30+ miles of trekking in that race with no chaffing or discomfort. I did wear UA boxer briefs underneath as I could feel the seam of the pad against my skin without them and didn’t want to risk irritation over that distance.

Very Poor Quality Bicycle Shorts
I have owned numerous Pearl iZUMi Men's bicycle shorts. This model is substandard because it has very little Gel or Chamois padding. I doubt these shorts will be comfortable/usable within 5 miles of a bicycle ride. I was very disappointed and immediately returned them as it was evident they would not work to my expectations.

Fit as advertised, provides enough padding for a shorter tri ride, and virtually unnoticeable while running. The only slight downside would be the leg cuffs are very snug. I have larger thighs and it's not too much of a problem, but certainly tighter than standard cycling shorts.

Size chart said I was medium. Item too small.
Followed the size chart but it doesn’t fit. I’m supposedly in the middle of the medium range on the chart. I usually wear large.

Cool and dry.
They are my absolute favorite! My daughter and I just wore them for our church trek. It kept us from getting any chafing and keep us cool and dry. They are so comfortable! I have dancer legs and a bigger booty and usually have an issue with pants or short of this type staying up. These had no issue. They are great and I will be buying more.

Not conventional cycle shorts
The padding for these is thin and the elastic is really stretchy - probably better as undershorts. Disappointed because they cost more than they deliver and previous Pearl Izumi purchases have been excellent.

Not what I was expecting
The sizing was way too small and the padding was less than expected
