One of the best high energy thrash debuts ever!
Forbidden came out the gate swinging with their debut CD, Forbidden Evil. It's start to finish high octane energy thrash, on steroids! It's also very technical, and precise with the twin guitars, and drumming. From the second, Chalice of Blood, takes off with Paul Bostaph hitting the drums, this CD just kicks you in the face, and tears your freaking head off!! I mean this is not amateur hour here, no way. Forbidden is balls out, and in your face with Forbidden Evil. So, this band is very impressive, and each member is very skilled at their craft. Besides being technically sound, Russ is an impressive front man, as well. He's tall, he's big, and he can scream and sing! He's not like most the thrashers that just grunt, and scream, although he can do that very well, too. Russ has a broad vocal range that soars high, and is the perfect compliment to an already talented band. Most people already know that Forbidden was very underrated, and came from 2nd thrash wave, from the Bay area. So, I won't waste time mentioning that.Forbidden though is just as good, and talented, as Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer are. It's really sad how underrated they were.Like I said, this album is start to finish balls out thrash, and no filler songs. I love every song, but my personal faves include: Chalice of Blood, Off the Edge, and Through Eyes of Glass. If you love thrash, and looking for something new to add to your collection then check out Forbidden Evil. This is a typical freshman release where bands give it the gusto, and full of raw energy, and passion.

from an old head
When this album came out, I remember seeing the cover and thinking "this is gonna be good". Was heavily into thrash at the time and just looking for a replacement for Slayers "reign in blood". This did nicely, and then some. Needs to be re-mastered, but is still the punch in the face its always been! I'm not gonna tell anyone what to expect, only that this is 1 of my favorite recordings ever. To bad the group never sounded the same after Greg, one excellent guitarist, left, and their next album"twisted into form", was definitely experimental, and started moving the group in a different direction musically, not to say bad, but distinctly different. Anyhow, get this disk. Anyone that listened to good thrash like violence's first album " the eternal nightmare" or Sacred Reich's "ignorane" will enjoy. Hope this was helpful.

INSTANT CLASSIC FROM THE BAY AREA
The best metal bands of all time came out of the bay area, and FORBIDDEN is one of them. They came out a few years later then Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica but even to this day they deliver the best metal there is (see OMEGA WAVE). Russ's voice is something to wrecken with and be honest with you, his voice sounds way better in concert than that of Hetfield of Metallica. I would have to argue with most people who would say that hetfield's voice is better than that of Russ. I respect James but the truth is Russ can sing and scream, while cannot do either one them at the moment, his voice is sorry. So if you are a true metal fan you should include this in your archive of METAL. Awesome album.

Forbidden Evil = Forbiddens Best
I love this CD!!...I put this one right up there with Metallicas' "Kill'em All", and Exodus' "Bonded By Blood" for the greatest debut releases in Heavy Metal.Forbidden to me, is a mix between Maiden\Exodus. The vocals are very Maidenisc, and the music is pure speed and thrash. There is not one single filler on this CD. It's short, but every song is head-banging heaven.Forbidden released "Twisted...." after this one, and it's very decent....But "Forbidden Evil" will always remain one of my favorite. It's what you would call a true "Diamond In The Ruff".If your a fan of thrash, speed, or just a fan of good old fashion metal, you'll enjoy this!!!

Good start from these Bay area Thrashers!
Classic Thrash Metal album from the Bay area, not as well known as some from around that era but with this they delivered a really solid debut! The singing is in the more melodic vein, bringing to mind a more extreme Bruce Dickenson in places.. Granted, not every track is a winner but all in all it comes recommended!

One of Thrash's greatest jewels!
Forbidden Evil i have a big metal collection- and this album is definitely in my top 5 of thrash albums of all time, perhaps even top3. in the face of some stiff competition that says everything about the rabid fury and intensely catchy riffing on this album, , filled to the brim with razor sharp thrash hooks, awesome vocals, and leads possessed with energy. truly essential to any thrasher, imo. Forbidden Evil

Another lesser known classic
This is another lesser known classic in the Thrash metal genre, while I feel it is not as good as the newest album it is pretty good. lots of blistering riffs and breakneck speed, fast paced drumming and soloing, and lyrics you can shout in your best mates face while headbanging (if thats your thing) it nice and simple and has nothing much else to it perfect for when your angry or just if you like this kind of music, it has not mish mash of genres or anything it is just out and out Thrash metal. Fast furious and Fun simple.
