Van Heusen Long Sleeve Button Down Pinpoint Shirt

In general I like Van Heusen products a lot. However, in this model of shirt -as well as in several others- the offer of sizes through Amazon is not as good as in other models. The size that I normally use (in inches) is 17 neck and 32/33 sleeve length. But for this model the offer of sizes is not for specific measurements; instead it offers this size as part of a group (XL) that covers necks in the 17/17.5 range and sleeve lengths in the 32/37 range. Therefore the customer doesn't know exactly the sizes of the product that will be receiving. This is very inconvenient, particularly for customers like myself that are located outside of the US. For instance, in this occasion the item that I received was somewhat large (17.5 neck and 34/35 sleeve length), and that is the reason why I rate this transaction with only 2 stars. I think that Amazon or Van Heusen as applicable should take the required measurements to eliminate this inconvenience for the customer.

I purchased this shirt because I have another one, same brand and make, from 5 years ago. I liked the previous one since the cloth was nice and thick and felt comfortable and professional. Surprise surprise, since then the company has decided to cut costs and use an incredibly thin fabric for their shirts. This shirt is shoddily made and uses extra-thin, see through fabric. If you are going to a rave and want people to see your nipple piercings, this shirt is great. For any sort of professional setting though you're better off just wrapping your torso in a single sheet of cellophane.

I used to wait tables and I had several different brands of white button downs. This shirt was by far the best looking, best feeling, most comfortable and least maintenance. I recently bought some new ones for a new job and they are as great as I remember them. A must have.

The shirt fits pretty well, but is rather short, so does not stay tucked in too well. That could be just cause I am very tall. Water shows up really easy on it. The reason why I rated this really low is that after 5 months of only wearing it once a week, the collar is already starting to fray. The rest of my dress shirts that have been worn longer haven't even begun to fray anywhere yet. I expected the shirts to last at least a year. Also I bought two of these shirts and both collars are fraying, so it so far isn't some fluke.

My husband has longer arms which makes it difficult to find casual button-down that go by the small through double x sizes. This shirt fits well and looks good. I will be buying him more Van Heusen shirts.

I had chose standard shipping and the shirt arrived three days after I ordered it. I picked the maize (pale yellow) color and when I opened the package I felt put off by the shirt. Perhaps it was due to the material or a combination of both that made the shirt look cheap. It reminded me of those shirts from the 70's that are polyester and slightly transparent. My husband took one look without opening it up to try on and said no. Maybe this shirt would look better in a different color, regardless, I returned the shirt for a refund. The seller posted a refund to my account in a quick, timely manner. I would order from the seller again, just not this shirt .

It wears well and I really enjoy the color, stiching and overall look.

I am always a little worried that things won't fit my xx-large son. He was a groomsman at his older brother's wedding. These shirts were crisp, white and looked great. I bought these for the groom and the groomsmen and everyone's shirt fit.
