Perfect Travel Monitor
We purchased this monitor to use while travelling. It hardly takes up any space in your bag, sets up very easily and doesnโt require any internet connection. The monitor has decent battery life and picture quality. The range is good tooโฆ Iโve used it in both hotel rooms and large homes with no connectivity issues. Highly recommend.

Durable monitor
We love this monitor. Itโs compact, durable, great picture quality for the price and the fact that itโs not WiFi and has a great picture battery life and ease of use with no need for added apps or anything is a major plus for us. We live in the country, our mailbox is quite the walk down our driveway and the monitor works great, cuts out a little bit behind our coops or in the aviary and thatโs a little less distance than our mailbox but the mailbox is only one wall and the coops put 6 walls between where our toddler sleeps on the opposite side of our house, about 90ft working with all the walls is pretty impressive to us. Itโll cut out here and there gathering eggs but I can still catch glimpses until I move back into range, the drive is well over a hundred feet and I bet I could keep going and cross the highway if needed. This is actually our second time buying this exact model because we broke the last one after 20 months but thatโs definitely not on the manufacturer, my hands donโt always work the way I want them to so Iโm always dropping smaller objects and Iโm not the best at making sure our toddler doesnโt get ahold of it, he loves switching the cameras and turning on the music, the 2nd from last loop option with different songs is our favorite and what we use for his quite time before he actually sleeps but is in bed and you can turn on different music for different cameras. The battery life is also really nice. The first 13-15 months I left it on and would watch him sleep because of my own anxieties when it comes to sleeping babies and it would keep going about 4-5hrs before I plugged it in so I wouldnโt risk it shutting down, while I slept, we didnโt use the sound options back then so that might lower the battery life, Iโm unsure. Eco mode is what I use now that theyโre older and Iโm way less paranoid about how they sleep and Iโve only ever had it on for maybe 7hrs before plugging in to be safe but it still has quite the charge left. Iโve fallen asleep on the couch several times and when the battery gets low it beeps and wakes me up but I forget how long it was but it was definitely early morning hours by the time that happened. We plug it in every time theyโre awake, itโs kinda our thing, the baby thinks theyโve gotta do it themselves, just like when they get my phone, they go straight to plug it in because mom does that so often, dadโs not so lucky with his phone or the monitor when he gets the baby from bed, itโs automatically play time with either device. Lol Weโve put the first one through the wringer though, battery back just broke 19m in and has been taped for a month and then our toddler had a bit of a tantrum last week and threw it across the floor on hardwood and mustโve dislodged the antenna because we lost a lot of range and the sound was static-y at that point too. It was still doing the job but a bit annoying so I ordered another one and this time I bought an extended warranty that covers this type damage through Amazon. It comes with 18m but not sure what that entails but I did register it. I got the one with one camera because I already had 2 cameras and was planning to order a 3rd one soon anyway because they donโt cover a lot of the room, they can be hung in ways to cover more space but in smaller spaces, like a little nursery, I need multiples up. One for bed only and one for the other side of the room and now one for the door since they canโt be in a crib or P&P any more because of climbing out. I still like one for bed only and a little closer so I can use the zoom to watch breaths or subtle movements, because thatโs just how I am, so the other two are for when theyโre moving around and Iโm not concerned about moving or not. The cameras arenโt perfect, not by a long shot but they do the job and I see what I need to see without messing around with WiFi, which is very important to a lot of people, but we have multiple reasons why we needed non WiFi, we donโt have internet access out here plus we donโt want anyone else watching our baby. The night vision works really well and thatโs a huge plus since both of ours have been sensitive sleepers and need darkness to sleep. The price is right and if you have a NB the one camera will work fine for you for awhile then additional cameras, up to 4, but rotating screens not split so can work for multiple rooms with different music, are around $30ish. That still leaves this monitor well below the cost of other good models. If youโre looking for an affordable easy to use monitor with a great range and battery life but donโt need all those unnecessary apps or have to give up a phone or other device just to watch your baby, I highly recommend this monitor. Itโs so simple yet has some great features seen in more expensive models. My baby even talks to me and signs over the camera since I made sure they knew I could see them all the time. Not the best picture added here since the blanket is pulled up and all the stuffies they drag in bed for nap time but I can see everything I need to see. I still canโt believe how long it took me/us to break this thing, it kind of reminds me of the old school sound only monitors I used with my teen before video was affordable for everyone, hard to believe something with a screen took so many falls/tumbles/throws/missed pockets etc to finally break it just enough where I wanted a new one but still technically could have kept using it, just leaving it set up in certain areas where connections were still available. Itโs not fancy but itโs a nice small box with a very good quality picture for the price point and it definitely takes a beating from my arthritis ridden hands that donโt always grip the way they should and a toddler thatโs fully in the stage where they canโt quite communicate effectively but talk all the time and throw tantrums when theyโre not getting the point across stage. The sound is the white noise we use but itโs not the camera, itโs a different machine since Iโm using mid eco mode and camera sound does turn the screen on but not other white noise from fans and such. My baby will knock or talk when they wake up to turn off eco, because weโve played with the monitor together to teach the concept, we started doing this early on so they know they can look around and find the little green light and communicate with me at anytime to any camera. Iโve seen complaints about the light on them but theyโve helped us help our baby learn to self soothe from just months old, knowing we were there even when not. I originally did the bundle with the movement detection alarm for Sidโs safety but never did get to try them out since they were out of the risk age by the time they transitioned out of our room and the mattress used wouldnโt work for it.

Excellent range, great handset, a fantastic value at $50
I tried this V24R video monitor after my experiences with the equivalent Vtech model, and this won hands down. The V24R has excellent range: far better than the VM819, slightly better than the audio-only DM111 (less cutting in/out in marginal conditions), though not quite as strong as the VM923 with its external antennas. Unlike the Vtech video monitors, the parent unit in the V24R has a user-replaceable rechargeable battery, so you don't have to worry about throwing it out in a year or two. Other pluses: * The V24R's parent unit is more compact and easily pocketable than the Vtech ones. * The V24R has 5 LEDs to indicate audio level rather than 3, which provides far better visual feedback when you have the sound off. * The alert tone when the parent unit loses signal is a reasonable volume. * The UI is very quick and responsive, with the screen toggling on and off immediately when you tap the power button. * The Babysense includes a proper manual. Unlike the Vtech video monitors, the Babysense won't turn the display back on automatically when the sound level increases unless you use "Eco" mode, which also mutes the audio, leaving only the LED meter on. This is largely a matter of preference though: since the Babysense responds so quickly when you tap the button to turn on the display, the loss of automatically turning on while still being able to hear sound doesn't bother me in practice. If you don't mind muted audio, the Babysense's Eco mode will check that box. There's some room for improvement in the UI, but nothing dire. I wish the night light wasn't the first menu item, since I don't want to turn that on by accident. Putting Eco mode first would be preferable, as would putting the night light last. As it is, I'll do some surgery on the camera to disable the night light. When I bought this, it was the same price as the VM819 and far superior. It doesn't seem to be available at the moment, though, so YMMV.

Works great, signal through several walls,
I have been using this for nearly 10 months now, running pretty much continuously 24/7 - it just works and works. I do not have any issues with signal, it's great. We typically watch from the other side of the house from where we put the baby down and it works fine with the signal going through several walls. Reading reviews here I didn't expect this kind of performance. I wish the viewing angle on the monitor were better, but that's only a minor quibble I suppose. Battery life is good. Lastly, this is a good system in that there's no internet involved. The receiver does some kind of handshaking with the camera; don't know how secure it is, but supposedly it's encrypted. This is much better since there's no communication with a server in china, no possibility of a hacker watching/listening/TALKING to your child over the internet anonymously from 100s of miles away (the camera has a mic and speaker). If some weirdo wants to try to hack the signal they'll have to be within range of the device, close enough for you to notice them, maybe close enough for baseball practice too.

Is the baby asleep? Yes!
Love this little monitor! I was the mom that thought I didn't want a video monitor when I had my first kid, then I had to *try* and teach him how to sleep, and realized that a video monitor was INVALUABLE. I got a Motorola one because that's what my friend had, but it didn't last more than a couple years before the power cord connection crapped out on the parent unit, and made the whole system useless. Once the expensive one broke (second kid is now 10 months old) I knew I wanted to get another video monitor, but I didn't want it to have a stupid USB power cord connection and break like the first one did, I also didn't want to spend $200. Enter this nifty little $50 monitor! I LOVE IT. Pros: -Eco mode is amazing - totally silences the monitor and turns the screen off, but leaves a flashing green light at the top so you know it's connected, it's just nice and quiet. This may be hard as a first time parent, but since we're on the second kid we don't want to hear the white noise machine in our ear all night long. -It's small and light! Maybe a little larger than a deck of cards, easy to slip in your pocket and carry around while chasing the older child that no longer naps. -It totally satisfies my requirement of being able to basically tell what the baby is doing while he's in the crib. If you need to be able to see your baby breathing this monitor may not be for you since the screen is relatively small and basic. -Battery life is great, likely due to eco mode and the unit's relatively small screen. Cons: -The screen on it's dimmest setting is still pretty bright to look at with sleepy eyes at 3AM when your baby wakes up and you're trying to figure out if it's going to go back to sleep. -Same with volume, there isn't much fine tuning on this thing, it's pretty much either on or off, though you can blast the volume if you really want to feel like your baby is crying right next to you despite them being on the other end of the house.
