RV Repair
I had some deep scratches on my gelcoat layer of my fiberglass Casita RV I wanted fixed. This seemed to be the right product for the job. Mixing with reactant is a critical step and the directions are very complicated to get the right dose. I ended up with not enough catalyst in my mix and it took days to dry, in Texas. It does do the job, but it is tricky to apply because it's like a very thin paint and gets quite messy. The white is white, which doesn't exactly blend in with the Castia's off-white color, but I mostly needed for my wheel well so it's not very noticeable. Wanted to use it in other places, too, but I don't think it would look good.

excellent stuff, read directions on website carefully.
Really good gelcoat; I used a 2.5mm nozzle and a bit of thinner, about 1oz/pint of gelcoat. Watch the hardner, the label says at 75F use 78-82 DROPS of hardner per 4oz of gelcoat, do NOT transpose that into 320 drops per 16oz or you will have a 16oz white hammer head, and with thinner it will go to about 200F and actually boil - no bueno. Get a 5ML measuring glass tube and measure hardner carefully, check out Totalboat website too.

did the job well
bought and applied the product on a 1968 Criscraft; the product bonded well and has a nice finished look. I would buy this again for small to medium-sized marine repairs

Waxed gelcoat as the final coat *Sunfish sailboat
Great product, very easy to apply to the hull as a final coat. This gelcoat is much easier to work with around 70-80*. I used a 1/4 inch nap, no lint roller to apply the gelcoat. Now itโs time to sand and buff.

Gelcoat was exactly as expected.
I have used TotalBoat gelcoat before and had great success with it. This order of gelcoat was equally satisfactory. Great product!

Do your research and you will do fine.
I did a lot of research ahead of time how to apply the gelcoat and how to buff it out etc. This is not a product that you can just read the label on the can and get it right. I replaced the transom on my boat and did a couple of repairs on the hull. I didn't try and match the off white color of my boat, I was more worried about the structural quality that looks. I used a roller in the bilge area and sprayed the outside of the boat using a HLVP sprayer with a 2.5 tip. Getting it to spray smooth with that small of tip was hard, would recommend a pressure pot and a 3mm tip. I applied 2-3 coats (2 unwaxed with waxed on top) . Both the outside of the boat and the Bilge came out great after the proper sanding and buffing.

It never hardens, unusable
I measured the gelcoat and hardener precisely according to the instructions and applied to my boat, which was prepared by grinding around the damage and cleaning thoroughly with acetone. There were dozens of holes to fill. After 24 hours, this gelcoat had no signs of even becoming tacky let alone setting up. It was 75 degrees F, which is what the measurements were valid for. I had to remove all that gelcoat and clean the holes again with acetone. Then I tried mixing up a small batch with twice the hardener the instruction specified. This time it was better but still gooey after 48 hours. I got my money back. Ended up using Evercoat Gel-Kote One Step. That set up in 15 minutes and was hard enough to sand in a couple hours.
