I had slippy pegs. Like not playable slippy pegs. There was a whole fiasco where my shop didn't fix it so I decided to fix it myself. I got this. Its rock hard. It goes on like a crayon. Wind the peg up and it stays!! Not only that, it holds a pitch too. Some minor flattening but thats expected with a $400 cello i got used at a shop that was closing down. This product saved a dying instrument. And you barely use any so one cellist has it, them and all their friends can fix their instruments. Definitely worth the buy

Listen to other reviews and use sparingly. I mean, very, very little. Just enough to unstick your pegs. Think, instead of going all around the peg, just touch 1/5th of the contact points. Too much WILL cause your pegs to slip.

I just received this. My older violin was very hard to tune - pegs jumped, causing the tune to go over and under pitch. This was easy to apply. Just unwind the string, pull out the peg, rub some of this stuff on, and put the string back in. Instantly smooth turning! This seems like it will last a lifetime, so great value.

Works great. It comes in a tiny tube, but I think it'll last forever! Remember to remove one string at a time - don't take them all off together!

Had several instruments that were exhibiting slipping or sticking pegs (Cellos, Violas, Violins of 3 sizes). Rather than short change it, I decided to go the "whole nine yards". I un-string the instrument (one string at a time so as to not disturb the bridge or soundpost) and applied the compound to the pegs at BOTH bearing points. Properly fitted pegs will bear in the pegbox next to the tip and near the thumb hold, so be sure to treat both areas. Then I restring that particular string, only tightening it to approximate pitch, waiting to re-tune until all pegs had been done. Then I re-tuned the instrument, experiencing the great difference in the ease of turning the pegs as well as the lack of slipping. You still have to exert pressure on the peg toward the pegbox to make it wedge into the tapered holes. With this compound you will not have to fight stuck pegs when you go back to tune the next time.

I am giving this a 4 only because I have never used anything like this before. You see, I recently told a friend that I would love to learn to play violin someday and ended up with a violin for my birthday! Not knowing anything at all, I watched videos to set it up and learn to tune it....and found out that there is something to put on the pegs to keep them from moving. I searched and found this on Amazon. The price was great, and it looks cute in its little applicator. Although I am not a seasoned player, I can say that this did the trick so I may be on my way! Coming to a concert hall near you one day.... :)

Exactement ce que je cherchait ! Cela fait 13 ans que je fais du violon, et j'ai voulu passer sur un cordier en bois pour un meilleur son, avec seulement un tendeur mi. Mais je me suis rendu compte que mes chevilles en Pernambouc se dévissaient rapidement et la précision nécessaire pour accorder mon cher violon🎻 n'était pas au rendez vous... en plus avec la forte tension de mes evah pirazzi... En tout cas ça règle tout mes problème ! 15 seconde chrono pur accorder en début de séance, et une lègère reprise au bout 1h 30, ça reste juste, précis, à en rendre inutile un cordier full tendeur (mais le mi me reste indispensable. n'hésitez vraiment pas ça simplifie la vie et celle de votre entourage (si vous faite tourner ^^), il y en a assez pour au moins 3 ans !
