Great art and an engaging story.
This is a wonderful book. It was a little much for my 3-year old granddaughter, but I loved it, and I think it will be just right for her in another year or too. The protagonist struggles with self-doubt in a way that I have never seen before in this format, providing an emotional depth that increased my sympathy for her instead of annoying me. I look forward to reading it again when my granddaughter is a little older.

Your kid is going to love this series
My kid LOVES these books. She can't wait for bedtime when I read it to her. The illustrations are great and captivating. The story is imaginative. Can't recommend this enough!

Beautiful story and graphics
I had the good fortune to see this book on display at my library. Even the cover pulls you in. My 8 year old read this the same day I brought it home, and my 5 year old and I read it together at bedtime over the next week or so. The book is beautifully written with stunning artwork. I love the quirky characters and unique story. This book has a comfortable, authentic tone and was absolutely a joy to read.

4 bright and shining stars for the Keepers of the Endless Flame!
4 bright and shining stars for the Keepers of the Endless Flame!Such a fun, whimsical, inventive, artistic, and adventurous middlegrade graphic novel! I really appreciated the character development, the way Probert drew anxiety and how that was represented throughout the work, and how Bea gains strength and confidence in her friendship with Cad. Love these 2 unlikely heroes and gobbled up this first installment in this series in 1 single sitting. And, I think you will too!

4 year old loves these books and so do I
This is a lovely youth appropriate graphic novel that both my 4 year old and I both enjoyed. It's one of the only books my kid has asked to read repeatedly. I would absolutely give this as a gift to older kids as well. I was a huge fan of ElfQuest as a young adult and was searching for a graphic novel that my 4 year old may enjoy, but without the nudity or as much violence. Lightfall was exactly what I was looking for to excite the very big imagination of my young, story loving kid. There are some "scary" parts (a shadowy bird figure named Kest), which depending on your little readers may scare them too much, but kids around 7 and up, I doubt it would be too scary. My 4 year old is kind of hard to scare. We also bought the 2nd book. It was wonderful as well. We look forward to all sequels! If you're looking for ideas for graphic novels for your little reader: I also tried graphic novels such as the Giants Beware series, Wings of Fire, CatStronauts and more. Lightfall beat all others we tried for my kid so far. Giants Beware series came in close though. He lost interest in Wings of Fire I think because there was too much going on, but maybe great when he's older. Had we found Hilda before Netflix made it into a show, I think he would have loved Hilda as a graphic novel maybe as much as Lightfall too.

Fantastic
I have not been this exited about a book series since middle-school! Book came shipped in a bag which concerned me however it wasn't damaged. Great story and beautiful artwork!

A vibrant middle grade adventure
A blend of action, adventure and a sprinkle of comedy make this a fun read, but the area where it really shines is the rich setting. The world building is really unique, and the environments feel so richly detailed and full of fun creatures, I was pulled right in! The cutaways to the silent antagonist sent a chill down my spine. I haven’t read a fantasy book for this age range so intensely engaging in a while!I’m going to get a copy for my niece, she just got into comics and I think she’ll love this.UPDATE: My niece (8) was absolutely gripped. She read the whole thing in a single sitting, then asked her mum to read it through with her to help on some of the more difficult words and concepts. I am now "best auntie ever".

Muy bueno
A mi hija de 9 años le ha encantado y ya está por el segundo. El inglés es relativamente fácil y no es demasiado infantil, por lo que les gusta más. Muy divertido y buenos personajes y dibujos.
