Q: How would this be on a 15gallon tank?

WAY too much water movement! It would be like having your fish in a washing machine

Q: Would this be more appropriate for a 48" 90 gallon freshwater planted tank? or cp-90 or cp-120 is better? noise issues at all?

We are using the cp-70 in a 75 gallon reef tank and get plenty of movement. I have some shells on the bottom of the tank that get moved around in the flow... if you have live plants in your tank they would need to really be firm in the bed to avoid being lifted- even with this model... but I really can't say what would be better. There is a slight whooshing noise as the pump makes waves, but it is not terribly loud and does not bother me.

Q: How would this be in a 29g biocube?

Too strong, although it is fairly adjustable. I had it in a 25g and hat to really dial it down to avoid the washing machine effect. My concern would be the size of it in the tank. It might be pretty big.

Love the pump great circulation great price but if you have a issue it up to you to figure it out zero support for parts replacement drop side ceramic bearing down drain had to buy another for parts still for two reasonable expensive for this volume of water pump and adjustment 120 gallon perfect flow and You can crank it up once in awhile
