very informative. it deals with the high quality pearls, so sometimes it is difficult to extrapolate the quality measures or characteristics to some more affordable pearls:-)it is a bit like reading sports car book while thinking what car to buy with 10kUSD

Good book but ...
A good book, but would be better if it had more colored photo's. I would recommend that you wait for them to bring out a fully colorized version of this book, like they have done with other "Matlins" books.

A little verbose, and not enough photos.
I used this book to help me determine the value of pearl necklac,es I’ve had in my possession. It was okay, not exactly what I had hoped for.
