Q: Does the charcoal need to be replaced after some time? If so, how do you know when to replace the charcoal inside the bag?

I’ve had mine for a year or more and haven’t needed to replace them yet, hope this helps

I do not smoke! But it removed a "musty" unlived in smell from two unused bedrooms very effectively. Also a musty smell on clothes hung in the wardrobes.

In answer to your question I cannot say or notice that they remove dust as my house is always getting dusty living on a main road. Maybe they do to a certain extent but one has to recharge them in direct sunlight which unfortunately we have had very little of todate and mine have been hanging since before winter in each room. Its a pity they don't attract the sun :)
