The Denver Swivel Recliner Chair & Footstool - Genuine Leather - Earth

Ok, let’s start with the good points : the chair was dispatched and delivered extremely quickly. I ordered on Sunday & received on Tuesday . Exceptionally good, particularly at the moment. So well done to both the supplier and the courier. Also the nuts & bolts & screws etc are very well packaged & labelled even stating that there is a spare in many cases. A welcome change from the usual jumbled bag of assorted pieces which have to be counted and sorted etc. So far, so good. I have a good deal of experience in self assembly furniture and pride myself on being able to put things together fairly easily. BUT it all went downhill from there. I had carefully read the reviews & all of the answered questions, one of which states that there are maybe a 1/2 dozen screws required. Really???? That is either someone reviewing something else or it’s not a genuine review. This is . I was expecting to probably have to screw on the chair & footstool bases maybe. I didn’t know that it would arrive completely disassembled. I’ve never paid that much for furniture that I have to build myself. The chair back, seat, arms, base all have to be attached to the u -shaped frame. And the footstool base and top need assembly. To all of you who found this easy, I salute you! This took two reasonably competent women ( & 1 ‘helpful’ dog) approximately 4 hours to accomplish. This is not ‘simple to assemble’ this nearly broke me. I was ready to hurl the bleep bleep thing out of the window. Most of the screw holes are covered with the PVC material and fluffy stuffing. There is a very small tear in the leather of the seat but it’s at the back and unseen once assembled, so I’ve let that go. Honestly couldn’t face packing up the wretched thing to return it . Some helpful person at the factory labelled the same arm as both left and right. Ha ha ! Excellent joke. But there’s more PVC on it than I realised; including the sides of the arms, which have to be squeezed between zips and metal to be assembled. This has caused a tear on the relevant piece. Luckily it’s hidden but I’m less than satisfied and obviously can’t return it now since technically I caused the damage myself but it’s worrying that the PVC is that thin and so easily damaged. All in all, the chair is quite comfy once you’ve recovered from the trauma of building it, but had I known what was involved, I would not have bought it. Hence this very long but completely honest review.

The chair Is great and really comfortable. My only complaint would be the instructions for assembly they are small and not the clearest. Which makes them a little hard to follow as it is just pictures. Other then that it's a great chair.

I thought the early delivery was fantasticHaving tried to buy local to no avail my son suggested I tried on line it was so easy and I am delighted thank you

Having read the reviews, the chair wasn't as easy to assemble as I expected and the instructions could have been clearer.I was amazed how quickly it was delivered - 2 days after I placed the order. There was a mark on the footstool so I contacted the seller who responded very quickly and I was sent a replacement without quibble.

Excellent purchase, and delivery ahead of estimate too - very satisfied.
