Just waiting on the kittens....
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been eyeballing a kitty wheel for a bit now knowing I’m bringing home two high energy Bengal kittens soon. I had a Bengal previously and she would have loved this. The ‘original’ one I’ve seen was much larger and more expensive and frankly looked a bit cheap. I saw this... liked the size and footprint so decided to see what it’s like in person. I was not disappointed. It’s very well made and sturdy. Easy to put together...3 parts and a washer...doesn’t get easier than that. It spins very smooth and makes no sound...at all...seriously...none. I stained and sealed it with non-toxic water based products to match the rest of the house/furniture...easy to do. Very happy with how it came out.Kittens come in 3 weeks and will update...tried it out with 15 year old cat who was not impressed and rolled her eyes at me so..old cat ..new tricks.. not so much. Sure I’ll get the same look when the kittens arrive. Lol.

Really a great product... So why did I return it?
This is a sturdy high quality product. Safe for your cats, spins perfectly. Great value for your money and I recommend it. However, really should not get it for grown cats. Get a kitten, gently get the kitten used to it and let them grow up together. My older, full grown cats are big for it and as soon as it spins they are terrified and Sammy Sam isn't afraid of anything. Not even a garden hose. But, he was scared of this. Too bad, I really wanted it to work out.

Great product
It is a little small but very well made. The wheel itself spins very smoothly and with ease. My cat is very finicky and would not get on it. She did however like watching her toys spin on it. Haha. But for most cats it will be great exercise.

Great cat tower. Running wheel is a waste.
The wheel is 1/3 the size it ought to be. My cat barely fits, definitely can't walk or run easily. Everything seems good quality, sturdy, durable... but I'd rather return it and spend the same amount on a "real" exercise wheel. One Fast Cat is about the same cost as this, I think I'm going to end up with that.

Too heavy for kittens and not big enough for 8# adult cat
My adult cat filled it up when it stood on the wheel, it had no incentive to try and move it because it was crowded when she stood on the wheel. There was no room to move.It was difficult to assemble because the holes were very small that I had to. put screws into so it took a long time.I gave it to my friend who has 2 adult cats that are smaller than mine and the same reaction, they filled up the space and no room to move.I know I've exceeded the deadline to return but I was trying to find someone who could use it so I'm asking if you will make an exception and please issue a refund to this long standing loyal customer of Amazon. Please LMK ASAP. Thank you.

Great Customer Support
The track was lifted from the wood structure when it showed up but I was taken care of by customer support. I have had no issues other than that, very easy to assemble and is very quiet. I’d suggest putting some cat nip in the wheel to encourage your kitty to run while you’re at work!

Great for exercise
The media could not be loaded. Our skunk loves his indoor exercise on this wheel. Very quiet and smooth.

Does NOT work - unsafe
This is very sturdy and looks like it would work great. BUT it doesn't. The design is all wrong. Which seems impossible since it's so simple! But we have 4 cats that love running wheels and NONE of them will use this, and in fact it scared/hurt a couple of them.First: The wheel is just too small for an adult cat. A kitten could use it to some degree, but still could not "run" on it, just walk and maybe trot safely. The angle of the curve is just too sharp for even a small adult cat to make use of it. You can see this in the first pic of the orange kitty, he's considered a small cat and the angle that he has to arch his body to move on the wheel is just not physically comfortable and he definitely can't run in that position.Second: The track is too narrow. My cats are all on the small side and kept falling off the track. They already have a One Fast Cat wheel so they know how to use cat wheels, but they could not make this one work without repeatedly slipping a back leg off the track, requiring them to stop or they entirely fell off and had to start over.Third: The bolt that the wheel spins on seems like a great idea, but it's so smooth that there's almost no friction on the wheel. This makes the wheel spin too fast as soon as the cat starts walking, so they get off balance because of the aforementioned sharpness of the curve, and have to hop off or get flipped inside the wheel. They don't like that.Fourth: The carpet inside the wheel seems like a great idea - but it's actually DANGEROUS. It catches their claws easily and when the wheel spins too fast, as described above, their paw gets twisted and dragged over the top. This causes them to have to rip their claw out of the carpet or it gets twisted and they get hurt. This happened to all 4 of the cats that tried it.***I uploaded a pic of the orange kitty getting stuck in the carpet and getting his claw twisted up, having to rip it out forcibly. He never got on the wheel again after that incident, as far as I could tell.Fifth: The carpet on the outside seems like it would be cool for them to scratch and claw, but the same thing happens, as above. As soon as they put their claws into it, it spins, and pretty fast, dragging their claws with it, causing them distress. All 4 cats absolutely love their One Fast Cat wheel, they take turns running on that thing all day long, so I thought a different wheel would be as fun for them. But they all tried it a couple times each, with each of them having a difficult time or a bad experience, and never going near it again, after the first two days. I left it with them for 5 more days, and they avoided it like the plague. The moment I gave them back their OFC wheel, they were running like crazy again. Guess I'm buying one more OFC wheel and this one goes back. Too bad, I wanted it to work. Maybe they will redesign it with these things in mind. Until then, I cannot recommend this wheel from Penn-Plax.
