Perfect. The only problem with this little gem is that it suffers from the ignorance of the average Amazon customer/review writer. This little bento box is exactly what anyone who is familiar with what a bento box is would expect it to be. All of the low star reviews are people who have no clue what a bento box is but buy this anyway and then complain that it is too small to feed their overweight children. Bento boxes like this are meant for one person, complaining about the size because it is not enough for two is like complaining about a sandwich bag because you could only fit one sandwich in it. Do some research and educate yourselves people. It's not this products fault that you were too stupid, lazy, and/or ignorant to know/find out what you were buying before hand. Just to be clear I eat A LOT, my wife and in-laws make fun of the amount of food I eat compared to a normal person, that being said this bento box holds the proper sizes portions of a traditional Japanese style carry out lunch that I SHOULD be eating and it fills me up when I fill it with a Japanese style bento lunch and I love it. Additionally the lid latches in the two tier set up or Sitting only on the larger bottom, so you can store the small container in the bottom before putting the bottom lid on then latch the top lid on and stow it in a more compact configuration. If you are in the market for a bento box and actually took the time to learn what a bento box is then buy away, you won't regret it. **Update** I have been using this little bento for a little over a month now for the lunch I take to work on my 12 hour shifts. I have washed it in the dishwasher everyday, and as long as you know how to pack a bento lunch and don't try to eat more than you should then this little box is perfect. The only thing that has given me any pause is when washing in the dishwasher, I remove the gasket from the lid, that however started to get deformed so I would recommend doing what I do now, which is hand wash the gasket but wash the rest in the dishwasher.

This is the two tier I talked a little about in my previous bento purchase. I really like this one as well. I don't use the compartmental that much. I usually take them out unless I'm doing nuts or something. I'm usually packing salads and some other foods to warm up in the bottom portion of the bento. I would recommend this box don't let the size surprise you; it's a great box.

I was skeptical at first about the size of this container however, I was truely amazed at how much I could fit into this compact stylish bento box. School lunches are horrible and plain unhealthy, thus I am always on the look out for ways to bring lunch without carrying extra luggage (lunch bag) or having an awkard shape (bowls) I'm so happy that I can now have a bento box that fits in my backpack and it is easy to wash. Just look how cute and delicious my food looks. The top tier has two separaters that you can easily pull out and wash. The juices of the fruit don't spill onto the otherside and I have not experienced any leakage yet. There is chopsticks inside a compartment on the top of the bento box, I don't use them so I just put in small packets of salt or mayonnaise. Overall, I give it a 5 star rating. It beats all the other lunch boxes I previously own. It's worth the cost and I can fit more food than a school lunch would feed to a kid (a peice of apple and a slice of greasy pizza)

I bought this to make bento-style lunches for my husband to take to work a few times a week. We have been using it for about a month and he is enjoying the change from the same-old sandwich, chips, and fruit. Please be aware that if you are looking for a container to pack the standard American lunch mentioned above, you will be disappointed, as this box is intended to be packed tightly with compact foods: rice, small pasta shapes, quinoa, etc., plus bite-sized proteins and vegetables like small meatballs, diced chicken, cherry tomatoes, and cut-up broccoli or green beans. Packed this way, it actually holds quite a lot of food - too much for me but a perfect amount for my husband, who is a runner and cyclist and has a very healthy appetite. You could pack sandwiches in it, but you would be better off cutting them into small shapes first instead of leaving them whole (there are lots of cute-shaped sandwich cutters available on Amazon.com for just this very purpose). Overall, I am very happy with this bento box, which looks stylish and fits easily into a backpack or large briefcase. If you are interested in making beautiful and tasty bento lunches, I would recommend it and would also recommend buying Makiko Itoh's "Just Bento Cookbook," which has a lot of very delicious recipes that are great for bento.

Its a cool Bento box and very useful. I would buy it depending only on what your specific needs are though. I say that because its only useful depending on what your specific needs are. I personally buy lunch boxes to take food that will last me all day, and to eat food periodically from. I use to take many individual small containers (each one is 1.25 cups) to pack my meals for the day (breakfast, lunch and 2-3 snacks) as well as a separate vegetable only salad. So now I prefer to take one container/device that I can take all of my food in. Now the bottom is great at carrying things and the top is as well if you don't use the many small compartments. The small compartments cant carry very much at all. But if you are a small eater its fine. However most people I know are not and most people laugh at me when i bring in my small 1.25 cup containers for lunch (and these small compartments are WAY smaller in size. So its a great Bento given it can carry a good amount if you don't use the compartments (and still can with the compartments, just many much much smaller portions). The only other problem is that it leaks and is not very tight if it goes on its side. And because of its small shape it pretty much always tilts over because its like a lightweight slender box the size of a rectangle instead of it being more square or wider to give it more stability. My advice if you are set on this box is to find a box that exactly fits the size of this box and don't just throw this into your tote bag or a lunch bag to get to your final destination with leakage in your bag. And no matter what bag you get make sure the bag is stabilized because if you are driving and not holding it, its still liable to fall over if you are not careful. I will still give it 4 stars for being functional and cool looking but I must deduct 2 stars for it not being leak proof nor very able. Last but not least it arrived damaged and was cracked to the point that it was literally punctured about the size of a quarter in its side. And I can see why, because its so very thin. If you dropped this I would pretty much guess its going to break or at least be seriously cracked.

Everyone thinks it is small when it arrived, but I was prepared for the size before ordering it. It is typical for Japanese lunch boxes, which is usually packed with food. My first lunch is great with enough amount of food. And I really like the smart shape, my old lunch box is too wide to fit in my backpack. I think this is a well designed, big enough box if you bring more satisfying meals like meat or pasta, rather than salad, but also I do not eat much since I am a 5'5" woman. Big guys might need some extra food.

This box is perfect for me. It fits more then enough food for my appetite. Heck, sometimes I can't even finish everything in the box....Now you might come at this and say that's not enough food in that box, I can't fit my triple cheeseburger or medium pizza for lunch...well then maybe you should reconsider :/ This box works best if you're into portion control, or maybe are looking for a snack box...Me, I think it fits more than enough. I sometimes do a half PBJ sandwich on the bottom portion along with some grapes, then on top half I do like snack items, ie cashews, cheese, chocolate, dried fruit...you just need to be creative in how you pack and how much. This is also great for those who want variety in small portions. Which is where I'm at with food. My pallet gets bored with large portions of food, so small portions in a variety is best. And this bento box does that right.

This bentô has a very convenient, modular interior that will easily fit many types of foods. The exterior is durable, and overall it's slim design makes it easy to carry in just about any tote or bag. Don't worry about its small 'footprint', though. Plenty of food still fits inside, so you won't be left wanting. This is a great bentô to bring along for lunch at work or school.

Es dauerte zwar etwas bis die Box endlich da war,da sie direkt aus Japan kam aber das warten hat sich gelohnt. Für den Preis und durch die vorherigen Rezensionen hatte ich damit gerechnet dass die Bento Box sehr klein ist, wurde somit aber positiv überrascht. Für eine Person für zb. ein kleines Mittagessen bei der Arbeit reicht die Box völlig aus. Der untere Deckel ist sehr elastisch und lässt sich gut schließen, daher das ideale fach für speisen mit soße oder die aufgewärmt werden müssen. Was auf den Bildern auch nicht klar zu sehen ist, ja, diese Box hat am oberen Deckel eine Gummidichtung und der untere Deckel lässt ich auch luftdicht verschließen.Ich habe schon ohne Probleme feuchte dinge wie Salat,Tomaten;Gurken..etc.darin transportiert,lässt sich auch alles super trennen. Zudem wurde mir noch ein winziger Origami Kranich beigelegt, sehr süß gemacht :))

I love how slim and compact this is and there’s alot of dividers so that’s another plus. The bottom part isn’t waterproof though so no soup. Doesn’t retain hear so make sure to pack in an insulated bag.

Muy buena calidad, se lava sencillo y es apto para el microondas (nunca lo he metido por más de 3 minutos) también es muy práctico llevarlo por su medida cabe perfecto en casi cualquier lonchera

Este es el segundo modelo que compro, me encanta la variedad que ofrece para organizar la comida, que se puede calentar en el microondas sin la tapa, lo fácil que es de limpiar... Y que es hermético... Para mí es perfecto!
