Eat Something New From Your Backyard!
Well curated book. You’ll say, “Hey, I’ve seen that before!” Accurate color photos. Includes ranges of where plants live. General info on how to prepare included and what not to do. I bbq’d cactus buds with the info in this book. Who knew cat tails were a superfood! My only complaint is the book is not really sturdy for much outdoor use. Bon appetit!

Good guide
This is a pretty good overview of some of the more common edibles in the state.

Christmas Gift
My sister lives in Texas and I live in Florida so I can't read the book but she told me she gives it a 5 and actually wanted the book for some time now and I never even knew it. She said the information is highly informative, educational, and useful to the area she lives in. I thought it looked like a cool book so I'm glad she was able to confirm this for me that the book was valuable.

VERY INTERESTING
I like to know what the weeds in my yard are good for. haha Yes, nearly all plants are good for food or medicine and while I never hope to have to hunt up either food or medicine from the yard, but it's nice to know that I could if needed.

What a wonderful little book!
This is the the best foraging book I’ve found, and I have several others in my library. If you are a Texan, this book is for you. Now, some details:1. It’s not overwhelming in size, just appropriate to be useful2. The book is in color and nice3. Each plant page has 2 color photographs, sometimes roots, or stems, or bulbs besides the leaves4. Each plant gets its own page5. I actually have heard of many plants in the book or recognize them6. The book was written to be useful, not all-inclusive7. Each plant is described with medicinal uses included, along with a location mapI could have saved myself some money if I had come across this very helpful book first. A big thank you to the author.

Great Book
Loved the book; however, there were not enough edibles for the money. Needs to be updated to include more!

Great book!
Great book overall. Lists out a large handful of edible wild plants of Texas, as the title suggests. Each plant includes a few pictures, a written description of what they look like/where they can be found, edibility, and other notes. I take this thing with me everywhere I hike, to try and identify plants. What would make me grade it as 5 stars is if it had more pictures of specific plant tissue of each one. This includes closeups/little descriptions of the bark, leaves, flowers and berries. Maybe just a teeny little photo of each, would really help a lot. However, this book is still well worth your money!
