Amazon Basics Multi-Purpose Cable Ties - 12-Inch/300mm, 200-Piece, Black

Product info wrong ... received 100 wire ties, NOT 200 as advertised.I paid for 200 white wire ties ANDI paid for 200 black wire ties ... I received 100 of each color.

I like Amazon basic products but these were absolute garbage. They arrived in a u-shape due to the way they decided to package them. We purchased them to lock down our Christmas lights display which is what we do every year. We go to install the first one and snap break. Second one snap break. Third one snap break. You get where I'm going with this. We ended up having to carefully cinch them down a little bit by little bit so that they would hold. Took us forever to get the job done.

They're some simple zip ties, appropriate for keeping in a hobby/tool area in case you ever need some around. Strong enough to handle most things if you don't strain them. If you have to strain them to make them fit, you should try getting longer ones.To help you visualize how tough they are, I found it very difficult to cut them with a pair of scissors, I had to go down to the base of the scissors and squeeze hard to cut them.

My bad for thinking these would work but they are so short I can’t barely maneuver one end to go in the other end. But longer ones and cut off excess.

I read some negative reviews but bought em anyways. I got the 4” 200 pack and they work just fine. They’re nice and thin and I’m able to get them pretty tight and snug without any breaking or slippage issues.

4" Cable Ties - Not very strong, gripping ability is sub-par at best. I use 4" ties all the time, since these were so weak I had to use my larger ones which were more expensive. This place is getting like ebay but more expensive.

I bought these (more expensive than alternatives) zip ties because I expected durability. Turned out I was very wrong, 19 out of the 50 broke when installing, not even when doing the final tightening, just upon bending them to install. I had already used a few, so not returning that box, but I'm returning the other 2 boxes I've ordered.I used to trust Amazon basics as a good quality brand, after this I will definitely think twice before buying it in the future.

These zip ties are much thicker than expected. There was no mention of thickness at the time of purchase, and I checked again before writing this review. The tie out of the bag is the one I was trying to replace, which is a common size in my experience. Probably twice as thick. Amazon should definitely add more accurate dimensions. I bought 18” long, maybe the others are different or specify thickness.

I Got these to try out & to compare with others of the same size i have used in the past.. These are Every Bit as Good & Better than others.. Nothing Basic or Cheap about them or their quality, despite being labelled as AmazonBasics!These come in a pack of 50, Total overall Length is 17.3/4 Inch Exact or 450mm length, if you prefer. The inner splined grip for the locking tab measures 395mm or 15.5".The Width is 9mm & Thickness is almost 2mm approx. Say about 1.8mm without getting the Vernier calliper gauges on it!The quality of the plastic used is very good, every bit as good as many others I've used over the years, looks to be very strong & durable.. not sure if UV resistant etc. .. but i expect with amazons name to it, they will be inline with all the others out there in terms of spec' chemical, oil , uv etc.In practice when on just the second or 3rd line of splines.. and forming a rough circle & measuring, see photos, you can accommodate diameter pipes of 122mm or 4.3/4 inch .. with a little bit of wiggle room, possibly another few mm.Tried with both hands to pull apart on 2nd or 3rd spline.. could not do it, so the splined tracks & locking tab head are very good & strong.Cannot see a price at this time, so cannot comment on Value.. but knowing Amazon, they will likely be competitive with other similar quality brands/types.. Very Decent & Strong Quality Performers for many Uses!

These are good quality cable ties that work well at holding cables in place (around a downpipe in my case). I think they will also be long enough to hold my gutter guards in place in the guttering, although I need to wait for someone prepared to go up a ladder to check that out. I also intend to use them around the garden where their length and robustly thick design will make them ideal to hold older shrubs in check.Once the end is threaded through the correct way, it locks fast and cannot be undone, which is great as it also means it won’t work loose over time either. You can also, if need be, slot two or more together to create an even longer length to tie bigger things together.I don’t know their rrp as no product page exists at the time of writing this review, but Amazon Basic products are usually good value and I am happy to rate the product, price aside, at five stars.

These certainly do the job, they seem just about as standard as a cable tie can get. These are smooth to fasten and stay done up just as you’d expect.A similar pack of 200 would cost less than £2 from somewhere like Screwfix (at the time of writing the review I don’t know how much these are from Amazon!).

I have used these zip ties about my chicken coop mostly to attach the wire mesh, and they are much thicker and stronger than ones I've previously had from shops. I've been through an incredible amount of cable ties over the years and really can never have enough of them so this large multipack of them will come in very handy.
