As other reviews stated....
... you're mostly paying for salt, in way too big of chunks unless you're putting on a dish that will have time to dissolve them..very little Asian flavor to it. Buy red boat fish sauce instead

Extremely good on asparagus, but I think the salt pieces should be smaller
Just to taste this herb and spice blend, it doesn't really taste Asian to me. It's got red pepper flakes in it, which are quite hot, Ginger, regular and black sesame seeds, citrus peel, Ginger, and rather large chunks salt -bigger than kosher salt. It might have a few other things in it, but that's mainly what I taste and see when using and eating it.It was really good on asparagus, sprinkled with olive oil and roasted. I would use it again on my asparagus. It reminds me a little bit of Montreal steak seasoning, but it's much hotter and there's a that bit of Ginger and citrus, along with extra heat and the nuttiness of the sesame seeds that set it apart. If I could change anything about it, the rock salt would be smaller. Because of the size of the individual salt pieces, it's easy to get a bit of too much salt in one place.

Good for thick meats
Like other reviewers, I'd like this to have one of those plastic tops with holes that allow you to sprinkle the spice mix. With this, you just unscrew the metal top and then you have to pour it into your hand or a spoon to then distribute it. I understand the mix of ingredients has a large, coarse grind -- meaning the pieces are fairly large -- but they could use a top with larger holes, as is often found on bottles of crushed red pepper. The spice mix itself is pretty good. Because the salt is a course grind, you really taste the salt, so you shouldn't use that much. I didn't really get much of the tastes that would imply "Asian" -- the ginger, sesame and coconut are less apparent than the salt and garlic to me. Still, it's good.I've used large salt grinds -- usually kosher grinds -- on thick meats like big steaks and whole chickens in the past and it works well. That's what I like this mix best on -- thick proteins where the large salt pieces can really do their magic.Don't expect something with an intense Eastern flavor and you won't be disappointed with this slightly unusual and good-tasting blend.

good flavor...not sure about the "Asian" part
We are an Asian family, but Asian could mean a lot of things as flavors vary from country to country. For instance you don't really find your curries in Korea or Japan, but you do find them in India and Thailand. With that said...I guess Asian means spicy.+ This has a good kick to it.I like spicy and salty and this does both. Thus this is more like a seasoning salt.> The salt is coarse. Not everyone is into crunchy, large chunks of salt, so this is better for putting in a soup or chili...something saucy that will dissolve the large salt pellets.+ The product description says, "Sprinkle over steamed rice to add flavor, texture and color"It will do that!-- Cannot easily sprinkle as the bottle has one large opening.Yes, this makes the container easily reusable for those bulk spices at the local store, but not great for "sprinkling".OVERALL:My teens and I really like the flavor of this spice mix, even if it doesn't make us think "Asian".A more fine salt pellets and it would be better. Otherwise, worth checking out.
