If hdmi input is not connected, but optical input is connected, will the hdmi out has audio signal out?

I don't see a fan on the 7.1 PT796BT back panel, I'm assuming the fan is internal. Is it also loud like the other unists? Thanks.

The PT796BT does have an internal fan that helps to cool down the amplifier and prevent overheating. However, the fan noise should not be very loud or noticeable under normal operating conditions. What is the speaker wattage for the 7.1? i bought this unit to replace my sony str-de685(100wx5) and it isn't as loud.

I am running 4 100 watt speakers plus 100 watt mid range and large sub woofer and I get plenty of volume, you may need to adjust each section individually which is very easy select front rear center or sub I am an old lady and this is better than my old RCA unit because of it's adjustability the only issue I have is there are not enough ports for all my accessories I have to play switch plugs for some of my units(cd changer, TV, Turntable and echo unit)
