I do like jelly babies. They are delicious.

Once they begin to get firm is there a quick way to soften them again?

I've never had a problem with them getting firm. These are a little more solid than the Bassett brand but they're still pretty tender even after being in the TARDIS cookie jar for a few weeks.

How long do they last? What's the expiration date?

I don't remember if there was an expiry date on the package. (There could have been, but I didn't pay notice to one.) However, I put mine in a plastic bag that I could tie shut, once I'd opened these, and they lasted for 3-4 weeks, before they started getting a bit stale. Left out, it only took them a couple of days to start hardening up. So unless you're going to be eating them all right away, definitely transfer them to a sealed container or baggie. (The packet they come in isn't resealable, just so you know.) :)
