They're way too small. Ideal for pigtails and braids, but not for ponytails. Having said that, I use two or three at the same time for my ponytail, and they work well.

I purchased a pack of these about a year and a half ago. In all that time, I've only had to throw away 3 of them that I can recall for breaking. These have worked so well, I just ordered another 2 packages of them. Because my daughter also likes them...and they don't end up making it back anywhere they can be found when she's done with them. I went in this morning to put my hair up, and surprise! My last one was missing, and I was told the chances of it reemerging were slim.So I have really thick hair, and wear my hair in some sort of bun or ponytail that requires this 95% of the time. I have a very active lifestyle, I live in a warm climate, and if I'm moving and it's warm it feels like a furnace on the back of my neck to have that stuff down. So these have held up well to heavy use with thick hair. I have used other bands before and my rate and percentage of breakage on the bands because of my hair was much, much higher. And the color is great because it can go with anything. These will pull out a couple of hairs sometimes when I remove them, but it's nowhere near as many as the rubber band style elastics, so I find that the covering on these helps tremendously in that regard. But until the new bunch arrives, I'm stuck with the rubber bands I had in my drawer, but oh so thankful I have Prime shipping...

I've been using these off and on for roughly 40 years and I have to say that they are my favorites. I only gave them 4 stars because they lose their elasticity very rapidly. They used to hold up for months, but now they get stretched out of shape after a week or two of daily use. They're still terrific, but not as much as they once were.

I've worn these just about every day for the past several years, and they hold up time after time. I finally lost enough over a three year period to need to order a second set, and the remaining ones were still going strong! They don't have that terrible metal bar attaching them, they have a lot of elasticity and never break when putting them on. My daily driver!
