Washburn'sHard Candy 12.5oz

I have read many negative reviews about this candy. There have been a number of complaints regarding the candy clumping together. Mine arrived in fine condition. The candy is hard, dry, and each piece is separate unto itself. I bought two units, and each is in fine condition. This is the candy of my childhood and young adult years. Over the past couple of decades, it has become increasingly difficult to find. I cannot find it in any store that sells candies or general food products. The bottom line for me is this: please do not complain and moan this wonderful and rare candy out of existence. To be honest, there were times, 50 years ago, when the candy clumped together, especially when it was left open in a candy dish. It is susceptible to humidity. The clumped product has probably been subjected to storage variances in temperature that caused atmospheric moisture in the package to condense on the candy pieces. That is not the fault of the manufacturer, and is not a defect in the product. Perhaps dropping a dessicant pack into the canister would fix the issue, but that may not be permitted for a ready-to-eat product. At any rate, I have run long. Please do not b and moan this fine candy out of existence. If you read all of this, then I thank you for your time. SIncerely.

Great taste used as treat for older children..Smaller pieces fits just fine.Use as aids for counting and rewards without getting sugars overload. Great snack for awhile.

All the candy melted and molded together. Truly terrible

This is some of the best hard candy I've ever tasted! I don't know why it's so good... it just is! But I didn't give it 5 stars because all the pieces stick together no matter what I do. It was all in one big clump when I took it out of the tin. I dumped it into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag and shook the bag - most of it separated nicely. But then I put it into a covered candy dish, and within 30 minutes nearly all the pieces were glued together again... and stuck to the bottom of the dish! Just know that if you buy this candy, you'll have to fight with it. I still think the extraordinarily good flavor is worth the effort!

This was a big hit with our family! Growing up, both my and my husband's grandparents kept different types of candy in cut glass, covered candy dishes in their homes, and Washburn's hard candy was surely one of the candy varieties offered to guests. This past Christmas, I passed down candy dishes that I'd received as a young bride from my Grandmother toeach of our sons, and also gave them each some Washburn's hard candy. My husband and I shared our stories about those 'sweet' memories and traditions, and we all delighted in seeing the different bright colors and designs of the candy and picking out which ones we'd like to sample. Our sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren were all captivated by the stories of simple hospitality in times past. They so enjoyed this that they began their own candy dish traditions, setting out their handed-down candy dishes and sharing these tasty little candies with those who visit them. Washburn's hard candies have been repeat orders in our family!

I had to slam the big ball of stuck together candy to separate it. It was in a clear plastic bag. It looked awful.The candy tastes good so far. It is in a cardboard "tin", with a reclosable lid. It looks old-timey.Bottom line. Tastes good. Bad presentation. Do not buy for a gift. It looks junky and cheap.

I bought this as a surprise gift for my husband because he always refers to growing up eating this candy. He loved it and it's just as we remember in the crystal candy dish.

I was looking for this at a reasonable price and I found it. Not only did my candy arrive very fast, my can wasn’t damaged and candy wasn’t clumped together, very fresh! I will definitely be buying some more of this candy. Reminds me of my grandmother and mother in law.🥰 So thank you very much. 😊
