After having spine surgery, I was not to twist, bend, etc. Friends shared their grabbers with me, but the one I had already ordered, ArcMate, was the one that remained the very best. Even leaning on it lightly didn't get them out of alignment. The suction cup tips are perfect for picking up the smallest, thinnest items (a strand of uncooked spaghetti, a playing card, a pine needle) or the bigger items (shoes, throw rugs, jars). I have since bought several more of them for upstairs, and basement. The recent ones are longer than those and mainly used by me for outside. One of our dogs takes her toys outside and puts them under bushes. The longer ones are perfect for retrieving them. Our yard crew uses the same ones for picking up pine cones, etc. The ArcMate King Tongs are used by farmers since the long version will reach things from a tractor. This particular brand beats all the other ones that I have had or have seen on Amazon.

First of all the locking tab keeps getting engaged without help and the part of the locking that rides out where you hold the handle rubs on your thumb making it sore! Second it doesn’t grip as well as I expected! Third after using for 4 months picking up trash and small limbs from the yard the thin ribbon that runs through the handle broke where it comes out of the handle rendering it useless. Waste of money! Have used Arc a Tech for years with no problems but this particular product is not very reliable!!

Vvery well made, able to pick up heavy objects. The length is ideal for reaching items from a wheel chair. Over all a very good device
