Perfect water diverter and highly recommend!

Barrier is 6 inches wide and 5 ft long and grows to 3.5 inches high when activated. It does NOT raise to 6 inches after activated!Amazing product that works to DIVERT water (see review video), although I would not suggest using it if you have torrential flooding (water flowing 10+ mph at a constant rate). Barrier is activated by water, and can be placed in the needed location either dry (wait for the flooding water to activate the product,), or wet (personally activated by soaking in water for ~5 min, method I used).I am currently using this to block water from flowing into the outside bathroom. The review video shows approx. how much water actually flows through that particular area, and does a very good job blocking that from entering under the bathroom door. Product length is 5 ft, although that was a little long for me, so I attempted an experiment. I measured out the length I needed and chose to soak ONLY THE MEASURED SECTION in the water-filled bucket, and let the rest overhang over the bucket to stay dry... The ending result is in one of the photos provided (with the scrunched-up section), and works PERFECTLY! The dry end never touches water, so it stays in this flat position, and has stayed this way at the time of this review 1 month later. The product is also reusable (allow ALOT of time to dry) and biodegradable, allowing for easy clean ups.In conclusion, I highly recommend this product and will purchase more should anything happen to these.

Hurricane season is about to start...these work to keep the water out.
We gave up on sandbags after our experience with hurricane Irma...Sandbags do not stop rising water no matter how many are stacked. However these Quick Dam Flood Barriers have worked wonderfully and we have used them through all the subsequent heavy rainstorms coming our way.I have bought several and will barricade all the openings to my home during the upcoming hurricane season. Stack them if high water is expected. They are worth the money.

AWESOME...JUST AWESOME!
I cannot give this product enough stars! I live in Darlington, SC where we just experienced Hurricane Florence. Thankfully, we dodged a direct hit, but we didn't dodge the RAIN! We enclosed our porch years ago into a sunken den and have never experienced rain like we had that day. My son-in-law had dug a trench and I already had some sandbags down. I put the flood barriers up to my door and just prayed. As you can see in the pics, there was water up to my ankles! I took a pic from the inside of my den as well and one after the water had receded. The Quick Dam Flood Barriers held and kept water from coming in and flooding my den! This was a quick Amazon search and purchase the week of the Hurricane..Amazon Prime got it here.. I HIGHLY recommend this product!!

Repelled Flooding during Harvey
We used these during Harvey and they helped save the back of our house. The water was coming up over our patio door and seeping in through the floor due to bad drainage in our backyard. We deployed these once we realized and they stopped any further damage. They don't seem to dry out all that well (or maybe at all) because when you leave them out in the sun... you can forget and then it rains (oops). So sadly these are really just a one-and-done kind of usage. I'm concerned about throwing them out though? I'm not sure about the environmental impact they'll have if we just toss them in the trash.

Doing exactly as it promised!
Update August 2020:I’m now using the second segment. Love this product. Has absolutely done ask that it is promised to do. I’m so thankful for this as it has protected my home from what I imagine would have been a lot of water damage.2018: I ordered this water barrier bc of the threat of Hurricane Florence this weekend. It arrived in 48 hours just in time for a huge storm (unrelated to Florence)! I put down one 5’ segment outside of my back door. The rain water was already rising. The barrier started absorbing right away! I’m delighted. An hour later the thing is huge! And keeping water from entering! I’m so excited it’s working! I’m intending to add the other one when the hurricane arrives. I’m already super pleased I didn’t have to fight everybody at Home Depot for something like this! Plus it arrived in time for me to try it out before the storm. Unless it fails me this weekend, it’s already a 5-Star purchase - and I’ve only had it out of the box for a couple of hours!

Nice Product!
These work really well. Put them in place to prevent water flow over newly seeded lawn - they're flat until water hits them, then they swell to 4-6 inches inches high. The 5 foot length is enough for a typical stairway/doorway opening. After they dry out they turn flat again, but will swell back up the next time it rains, so it's important to anchor them down with a couple of rocks or bricks on each end so they don't blow away when they dry out.

I was very disappointed in this product-do not use for flooding!
For shallow water issues only! I was very disappointed in this product. I had rising flood water outside my patio door and was hoping to stack these to keep the water at bay. The first one worked great, then i tried to lay a second one on top. It didn’t balance well, but I needed to block slowly rising water. I added a third which fell off and floated away, as did the first two when the water got higher. I realize the water ended up too high for the product, but i was disappointed they did not stay in place while stacked even before the water was higher, closer to 4-5 inches. I also tried them inside to build a dike around my furnace as water leaked in. They do not seal together well end to end, especially if not in a perfect straight line. Perhaps I just expected too much from this product. For small amounts of shallow water less than 3 inches deep they would be fine. Get the exact length or longer and don’t expect anything but a straight line. Even stacked in a pyramid they floated away.

Quick Dam
I bought two of these Quick Dams for my back door. I have experience two floods in the last 5 years and wanted something to stop the water getting under the door. I have put one on top of the other outside the door being held down by a brick each side. They have done as they are supposed of done, and swell with the rain fall but I cannot at this time say whether they will stop the water from coming under the door without flood conditions, which I hope I don't experience again.

Practicos

Basement water barriers.
These flood barriers are excellent. Given that we have a "living spring" in our c1879 basement which really bubbles during heavy rains we needed something to protect our furnace and hot water heaters. I couldn't ask for a better product!

Good for the first month, and it's like deflated after
they abosrbed water well and "swelled" into strong pieces when new and during the first few weeks of use.after few months, they did not react to water and looked like "deflated" and were no longer useful.I did not expect these to last only few months!
