I can't Believe It....
This great cd has no rating?? Holy cow!! Listen....if you have plans on purchasing any of Eloy's cd's, make Planets one of them. This is an excellent disc for anyone who's a fan of, or just discovering this great band. I purchased Colours and Planets the same day. And have not been disappointed. Colours is great too. But I do tend to listen to Planets just a little bit more (not by very much though). I know it's become a cliche, but, Buy this disc. You'll be thankful you did.I'm still in shock that there was no review!!

if the PLANETS have lined up....
.. then you'll already have bought this album,a quite superb example of Sci Fi rock at its best,in the early days Heep & Purple would be the main influence alongside the obvious Floyd and Hawkwind references,by the 80's the band had develped its own sound, quite frankly they stepped into the black hole left by Rush as they moved into a different Hemisphere.Opening with a stunning little keyboard introduction we're then left to marvel at a quite excellent track 'On the verge of darkening lights' propelled along on some stunning bass playing, before track 3 bounces out of the speakers 'Point of no Return' again carried along on a bass riff (reminds me of Sabbaths Heaven and Hell).Highlights, well all of it,if pushed i'd plump for the 'epic 'Mysterious Monolith' with its keyboards of delight while 'Spinx' is just other worldly cosmic rock at its best. The original album was released in 1981,the uk didnt get it until '82 complete with stunning Rodney Matthews sleeve, this is the 2005 remaster, sounds outstanding, comes with booklet containing the story which covers this album and its 1982 follow up 'TIME TO TURN',it also contains a rather uneccesary bonus live track, recorded in Paris 1983
