When we first got these out of the box, we were disappointed as they seemed so small. Once we lit them up however, our disappointment went away - these lanterns are AWESOME. Super bright - terrific for camping.

these things are truly amazing lol i never would have thought they would be so bright. The finish is rouch on the outside but who cares its bright thats what it supposed to do!

These are really nice lanterns . I have used a lot of portable lights, flashlights, camping lights, etc. and so far, these simply out perform all the others. (In the same price range as my other lights.)What you receive are two black collapsing lanterns with metal handles for hanging built into the design. They are 3.4” inches wide, 5” tall when collapsed and 7.4” tall when open and each have 30 leds.**Be sure to remove plastic from the batteries which is used to keep them fresh before use.Pros-These are very bright and provide 360 degree light. (Great for tables, tents, sheds and areas you want to light up all around.) Much brighter than I expected considering the size.-Each light is powered by 3 AA batteries which are INCLUDED! A set of 3 batteries will provide up to 10 hours of operation. Typically portable lanterns take a huge 6v battery, C batteries and D batteries. (One to 8 batteries EACH light pending type.) So think about cost. I can get a 100 pack of AA’s at my local Lowes-Home Depot for $22. So other devices will average $5 for a single 6v battery and almost $1 for every c or d battery you need. Best battery type for this type of device! (See my picture below of my old D powered lantern. Not quite as bright and took FOUR D batteries. If you want to save even more money, buy some rechargeable batteries.-Build quality seems sturdy and they are super easy to operate. Simply pull the top up and the lantern automatically turns on. Turns off when collapsed. The design is water resistant for those times you may want to use out doors. I would not go leaving this laying in standing water, however, would feel confident using them in rain.Cons-Not fully water proof, but for the price range, this would be expected. I think adding a few screw seals and an rubber ring to seal the bottom compartment may even solve that.Pictures-I found the bend at the end of the metal handles is PERFECT to hang them from a recessed ceiling. So if your power goes out and you have a recessed ceiling, just put two up and boom, you’re good for 10 hours of light! Note – I have no light source in my basement and the light you see is ALL from these two lights!-Comparison of my old larger lantern which was not quite as bright as these and showing how the massive batteries it needed. These two little lanterns have been coming in handy for all types of things for my husband and I. We don't camp, but the white light on these is so bright that we found many other uses for them.* We had a bad tornado come through and our electricity was off for a few hours. These were in easy reach, so we both grabbed one and used it for a nice amount of light in our pitch black home. They were truly a lifesaver during this time.* My husband works on his car at lot at night and even though he wears a headlamp, it's not always enough light. He places these right above the windshield wipers on the windshield and they provide ample light along with his headlamp.* I take a lot of pictures and sometimes my flash isn't good enough so I use these as extra back-light. They also work great for videos so that I can save the battery on my camera by leaving the flash off. These provide a brighter and whiter light, anyway.The lanterns are very easy to use and compact so they're easy to store. I love that they have handles for holding or hanging. The fact that they're water resistant makes them perfect for outdoor use. They even come with the batteries needed to power them. I received this product in exchange for my honest review.It looks a cool camping light for me and very easy to use and pretty bright. Like the most of the camping light, it operating with LED light bulbs which use less energy. However, I feel the light is too bright and it's hurting my eye when you look it straight. It might be my own problem since most of the camping light is like this. I think it will be a better idea to have an extra switch to turn on and off the light instead of pulling up the light. Overall, the quality seems not bad, and I think it's an okay camping light at this price. I will give it 3 stars rating as average product which neither surprise or disappointed me.

I live in an area with frequent power outages. It usually doesn't last too long, but being without light can be downright dangerous.These are great to have, not only for travel and camping, but also as emergency lighting when there is no source of power.Lots of illumination for a small price, and they sip battery power as they are LED.Utilitarian looks but handy to hang as well as be on a tabletop.Product received to test with the option to review.
