Summer Escapes UV Pool Sanitizing System P51-0039

I have been using the Summer Escapes UV Pool Sanitizing System P51-0039 for a week now and it is keeping the water clean. I didn't want to use chlorine/chemicals in the water as my 3 year old and I have sensitive skin. I called polygroup, the makers of my pool and they also sell the UV on their website, but were out of stock, to double check I install it correctly and to find out how long to run the filter and UV. They told me that for my size pool, to run it about 3/4 hours per day, in the morning or evening. I have been testing with test strips and I am getting good readings. I was skeptical due to the 2 bad reviews here in amazon, but I have to say, it is working correctly for me. It is super easy to install! You connect one hose to the filter and the other hose to the pool. Make sure you turn the on/off switch on, on the side of the UV and turn the filter on. Now your UV is working as intended. I keep my UV on all the time and keep it in the same plug as the filter, so when I plug the filter the UV turns on automatically. I hope this review helps people give the UV a try. I took a chance, against 2 bad reviews and got a very nice surprise - a working as intended UV!!!

This is a useless item that does absolutely nothing to sanitize a pool. I set this up with a brand new above ground pool and fresh water and ran this filter according to the directions. In just a few days the sides of the pool were starting to feel 'slimy'. I bought this filter because of the claims of the manufacturer and the seller that you would be able to avoid chlorinating a pool because this item would kill bacteria and algae, but it literally does nothing. It's a $160 bucket! The seller I purchased from ("Brands on Sale, Inc.") refused to accept my return even though they know this worthless item does not work as advertised.

Do not waste your money on this item. It does not work, you still have to add chemicals to your pool. It also leaks constantly through the lid. There isn't a good seal and the water just flows out above the dark ring and below it. I have lost 4 pump filters because the water has leaked out of the pool through this unit and burned up the pumps. I have tried several times to stop the leak but nothing works. Save yourself lots of money on water and pumps by NOT buying this unit.UPDATED - still leaking! It is full-on draining the pool daily it is leaking so badly now. NICE!! Good quality!
