Slows down my male Maine Coon!
I purchase this in order to slow down the rate at which my male cat eats his food, and it really seems to have worked very well. This dish has slowed him down considerably and he's even starting to lose some of his excess weight because he's not chowing through his food, and then going over to push his sisters away from their dishes and eat their food. I had to buy three dishes so that even if he tried to go to to one of the other cat's dishes, he would still have to slow down. It's working great and my other two cats seem to be perfectly fine with the situation. These dishes are well designed, although I am concerned that they could potentially break easily if I start being clumsy with them. The type of ceramic they are seems like it would easily break if I dropped it on the hard floor or through it against another dish too strongly. Even so, I keep that in mind and so far everything has been fine and my boy is no longer scarfing his food

Worked to slow down cat's eating time
This accomplished what I wanted it to do - slow down one of my cat's eating time. It's a sturdy bowl. I wish it came with a raised platform because there is no question cats and dogs should be eating from elevated bowls/dishes. I was able to put it on top of an existing raised feeder I have (discontinued O'Pet feeder). The only real wish I have about the product is that it was a bit deeper. It's so shallow it doesn't accommodate the addition of much water at all and I always add water to the food. When I use the bowl on the raised feeder at a slight angle, I have to be very careful or the water will run over the side of the dish. The product will only hold food sufficient for a cat or small dog. But it's well made and works. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is its shallowness, which still makes it easy for my cat to eat faster than I'd like. The manufacturer says "whisker stress free" because of its shallowness and that point is true.

Nice quality. Easy clean.
Challenging enough to slow down my little gobbler without too much frustration. Using this for his kibble. Easy to clean. I hand wash daily and then put in dishwasher about once a week. The finish is a lovely smooth white.

Best slow feeder bowl for CATS
This bowl is perfect for CATS because the ridges are not so deep that kitty can't reach the food but also not so shallow that kitty can snarf (and then barf, as is so often the case with my boy cat). It definitely slows down my cat from inhaling food, and has virtually eliminated his barfing (used to occur 3-4 times per week, none so far with this new bowl). Wish I found this bowl years ago. My carpet wouldn't look like abstract cheetah print from the barf stains. The 6" diameter is perfect for 1/2 can (2.5 oz.) of wet food plus 4 Tablespoons of water. I have no experience with dry food as I only serve wet food. FYI - bowls with lumps/bumps are better suited for dogs as the 1" ridges are too tall for most cats to reach the food. I tried 3 other bowls of this style and returned all of them before settling upon the SLSON bowl.

My cats love them!
I have two cats that will be 14 next month. They used to vacuum up their food and then barf it back up within an hour. The vet first suggested feeding them smaller portions more often. Feeding the cats regularly 8 times a day gets old fast so I asked if we could try slow feeder bowls. She gave her ok and we bought some plastic bowls that quickly caused problems (kitty whisker fatigue and kitty acne) as they were deep and intended for dogs. We then got some melamine bowls that turned into a very expensive nightmare when they started degrading and the cats got sick ingesting the stuff the bowls were made out of. Those were tossed and we tried basic ceramic bowls but that brought us back to barfing within the hour of eating. I was ready to tear my hair out when I discovered these bowls. I bought one for each cat and they worked great! They only downside is that I have noticed a few small chips in the bottom of the bowls that seem to come from being propped against each other in the dish drainer after they are washed. I'm considering lining the bottoms with silicone to prevent that but I haven't done so yet. I am considering buying four more so that I don't have to wash them between meals and can just toss them (ok place gently) into the dishwasher. I wish they came in more colors than just white but white does work.

Did not work at all
My cats eat so fast they throw up their food, so I bought this hoping this would slow them down. The bowl doesn't slow them down enough to prevent the throwing up. It is a nice quality bowl, and very easy to clean. I'm trying to repurpose them as bowls for eating their wet food. This bowl does not work for slowing down my cats when they eat dry food out of it.
