Motherhood Realized: An Inspiring Anthology for the Hardest Job You'll Ever Love [Power of Moms] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Motherhood Realized: An Inspiring Anthology for the Hardest Job You'll Ever Love Review: Much-needed Inspiration - I am one of the contributors to the book, so yes, I'm a bit biased. But yesterday, I sat down to read through some of the chapters. And I found myself getting emotional over the words and ideas, even though I've read them before. This says to me, that the book is full of life-truths that will bless moms everywhere. Most helpful I think is the redefining of social media's concept of a "good mom." This book will help moms see their strengths and how to utilize them in their mothering. It will help moms realize they are (and always have been) the right mother for their children. It will help them appreciate more moments, be present, and better enjoy the journey of motherhood. As we take this message to more and more mothers, we can create a force of women who, rather than compare skill sets and accomplishments, sustain and encourage one another. Something I believe the world and our children need. Review: Must-read for moms! - While this review may be a little biased since I am one of the authors, I can't say enough about the women who wrote the "chapters" of this book and the heart that goes into them. The online community of deliberate mothers at Power of Moms are all about supporting and encouraging each other in our imperfections and weaknesses as we try to do one of the hardest jobs on earth. There are no fluffy pep talks that leave you feeling even more discouraged than before, but rather lots of recognition of the tough realities mothers face in a variety of situations with the assurance that you are not alone and YOU CAN DO THIS! It won't be easy, no mother is perfect (let alone her children!), but mom's can recognize what their own personal best really is and feel good at the end of the day for giving it.

Longlasting wisdom
I bought this book when it first came out, and I just re-read it 8 years later (with my kids now 14 and 17 years old). I really appreciate the perspectives in these short essays - evergreen ideas with parenting and motherhood. I spent the last few weeks reading a few passages each night, and it was great fuel and inspiration during a pretty trying time of family life. Thank you!

A Very Good Friend
Motherhood Realized is reassuring. It's uplifting. It's provocative. It's something you will go to again and again, and always feel the better for it. It will sit on your bedside table, comforting just in its presence. It is a terrific gift for loved ones and friends, and for those of us who have daughters, I recommend buying keepsake copies for each one, so that many years from now they can read it, look back, and understand the ways in which we were struggling to be the best moms we could be.

This is a sweet read with some very experiences of Motherhood contained within
This is a sweet read with some very experiences of Motherhood contained within. I did enjoy it and it had some great moments. HOWEVER, there is one aspect of the book that was a turn off for me....... there were enough repeated references to prayer, church, etc that it came across to me as a veiled compilation of something more like Christian Motherhood Realized. Not that I really have anything against Christianity perse, though I am myself agnostic and don't appreciate religiousness being rammed down my throat in any way, shape or form. The religious references are not overwhelming and can be overlooked, which is what I did. Though I bought this as a gift for a best friend, who is also agnostic, and I was also concerned as to how she would feel about the religious references. All this being said, I would not rule out the book for the abovementioned reasons. I only would have liked to know what I was getting into.

Relatable
Easy to read and I loved that I could read a post while waiting in the car for my children or during any of the 3-5 minute increments in which i seem to live my life. I felt like each post was something that I could relate to with my own family, even if my circumstances weren't identical. The questions at the end of each section were thought provoking and helped to challenge me in doing better at my own mothering skills.
