May not fit your ratchet
The square hole into which the ratchet drive is inserted is not flush with the bottom of the socket. Instead, it is inset within a fairly deep conical recess. On only one of my ratchets (Snap On) is the socket is properly retained by the ratchet, but its bottom rubs against the body of the ratchet. On another socket (Pittsburgh Pro), the socket cannot be pressed on far enough to be fully retained. On a breaker bar (old-school Craftsman), turning the socket so that it is perpendicular to the bar (the position it would typically be used in), causes the handle of the bar to dislodge the socket.

Not your dad's Craftsman
At the points the walls are considerably heavier than a 1960's Craftsman socket of the same size. It's tough when clearances aren't good.It could be that more folks are using them on impact wrenches and relying on the Craftsman lifetime warrantee.4/28/2021

Potentially a good tool
Today's Craftsman tools have no correlation with Craftsman tools of old. I don't know if this one will hold up or not. However, it was made well and it works well. I bought it to replace an old Craftsman 12-point socket that wore out after 50 years of use.

does the job
I got it to remove the bolt that holds the blades on my JD riding mower. It does the job.I practically needed a breaker bar to get the bolt off the mower, and that's after using penetrating oil.

Great replacement
I lost a socket, handle and extension somehow. I know they are all together somewhere. This replacement was perfect. Price was right for a limited use piece. This perfectly fits the head on the Dodge filters.

Theft guard in place
This item had theft guard inside socket. If it wasn’t for my son being around there was no way I could of taken off the theft guard. No directions were included. Not every knows how to remove the theft guard.

Great American Name
I’ve used craftsman for over 20 years and you expect something you’re used to, however the walls on this socket are too thin and under heavy daily impacting won’t last long at all

Great quality typical of Craftsman
My dad always bought Craftsman tools because they have a lifetime warranty. They're also tough as nails and this socket is no different. It works exactly as I need it to. Tight fit, no slippage. I recommend this socket and this brand.

It's a socket
What can you really say about a 3/8-9/16 socket that hasn't been said, haven't lost or broken it yet!
