Is it any particular adaptor I can buy to use it in the UK?

Don't order - sent from the states wrapped in thin paper. The device was shattered and took forever to get a (partial) refund.

It did not work for me unfortunately, even after I bought a plug transformer too.

NO, it doest work in UK; it works with 110VDC as in USA. I bought one as a gift for a family in UK and was totally dissapointed.
