Mega Man Legacy Collection - Collectors Edition - Nintendo 3DS

This is the closest thing I have come across with ports of games to a new console from the older consoles. Not only is this package from Megaman's heyday, but the colors are actually brightened in a special way that it suitable for a screen. This is what people have been considering an HD port of this game. The game is still 256x240, that will always be the case. However, the images are actually enlarged nicely, but are not stretched. The enlarged picture feels natural.This is also the first Megaman port onto another console that emulates the NES sound chip perfectly. On Megaman Anniversary Collection, the noise channel was too loud with pulse 1 and 2 sounding static-like. On the Wii VC versions, they had different issues where the games would unnaturally slow down like the Wii was either busy doing a different process or couldn't handle NES hardware emulation. On the 3DS, it seems that the game is either acting as an onboard NES emulator or that the games can run on a 3DS script making it act like a real NES.The package of games are just fantastic. The golden Megaman Amiibo makes a VERY nice display. I actually just bought this game for this Amiibo. The Amiibo itself unlocks a few more challenges in the Amiibo Reader section. Most of them are boss rushes from all the games.Speaking of challenges, I was actually disappointed with these. The challenges seem to have no rhyme or reason. They were just random sections of the games that were thrown together. Even this would be OK, but the fact that when you reach the end of a defined section indicated by a black space ball, you are brought to the next part. The game pauses for briefly, however, the screen remains dark until the game resumes at which case, you have no idea what is coming up next. This makes sections involving Quickman's beams a real pain. The challenges are reasonable, but don't really make any sense. I was hoping for extra or modified stages. A stage editor would have been the best addition to the game.Overall, this is a great game, just don't expect too much from the challenges section.

While not much separates the basic 3DS game from this bundle (Bundle including the Gold Megaman Amiibo), I felt like this was a solid purchase. The item arrived in a box with a few dents, which is bound to happen with the type of game package this consisted of. It was very flimsy and the plastic wrapping felt stronger than the cardboard.The Gold Megaman Amiibo allows you to unlock challenge mode for each game which ranges from time attack, to getting X amount of points.Overall, Megaman Legacy Collection only contains the first 6 games (think just the original NES titles) with proper aspect ratio, and varied color borders. Museum mode is a fun diversion to see what the series is all about and its history.Final Comments: I would say this is worth it, as a portable Megaman collection on the go, and for diehard fans of Megaman. Other than that, I would probably not recommend this for casual players who are looking for something more substantial for a "Legacy Collection". The PS2/GC versions of Anniversary Collection had more content, game for game.

This package comes with the Legacy Collection of Mega Man games 1-6. The packaging came perfect with no damage whatsoever. Included is a gold mega man amiibo which is a cool addition to any amiibo collection! While I was excited to receive this product I have one disclaimer to note for anyone purchasing the product, there is a card that comes with a free download of 18 songs from the mega man 1-6 collection as well as 2 codes for exclusive mega man themes for your 3DS system. The card that came with my game did have these codes but they claim to be expired on December 31st, 2016 - using them did give me the themes but note that the codes may not work for you!

6 classic Mega Man games and more in one single bundle, as described. Packaged along the game is a bunch of amazing content for any Mega Man fan to enjoy; Music, Stickers, and free 3DS Themes with the Gold Amiibo. While the handling of the product was poorly managed, a few dents and cracks Isn't going to change how I feel about the actual bundle. It is a good buy.

It is what I expected so I'am happy with it and I'm enjoying it. I mean, these are re-re-re-re-releases of old games after all. Having the art and information of the enemies and such is something interesting, not new but interesting. I recommend buying it only if you really like Mega Man and/or want the golden Mega Man amiibo.

Game is really choppy, has lag spikes, and is an overall bad port. Stick with the original on the NES.

Amiibo packaging is plain white. Weird.This is just the 6 megaman games, should have more for the price.

The games within are a great introduction to a new generation as they are faithfully reproduced in all their 8-bit glory, and the museum with archived and concept art is a treat for hard core fans or those just curious. The extra challenge mode and amiibo (included) challenges also offer something new for old and new players alike, and the extras included like the postcards, stickers and chiptune soundtrack are also nice, but the gold Mega Man amiibo is the reason why you'd get this pack.As a mega man fan from the very beginning and collector of every game and compilation, this legacy collection feels incomplete as it only contains the first six NES games. It works as a first set but not as a representation of the original series. The retail price is too high for the first six games (but I suppose they're easier to code than the Super NES, playstation/Saturn and faux 8-bit 32-bit entries), in fact the digital version of MMLC costs less than half of the standard physical copy, so again, the gold Mega Man amiibo is why you're here, and I'll review that.As a Mega Man fan and collector the gold amiibo is the crown jewel of my amiibo collection. It works as a training/sparring partner on Super Smash Bros. for WiiU/3DS, as a Mega Man transformation mushroom on Super Mario Maker, and stands out beautifully in front of the rest on the shelf with its bright gold coloring. Hopefully in the future there'll be more functionality for it in a second Mega Man Legacy collection (with MORE unlockable challenges than in this one) other than as a decorative status symbol. Personally I love it, and so will collectors, so get it while you can.

Didn't come in box as described and the gold paint on the figure was not even or very metallic like the photo makes it look. It looked like it was spray painted gold.
