Perfect alternative to latex
This is a great product for direct application prosthetics. Many people have allergic reactions to latex or sensitive skin that can be burned by the ammonia in latex, and gelatin offers a great alternative. To melt, put in a heat safe container and either microwave in 20 second intervals or use a double boiler method on stove top. Make sure to check temperature on your arm before putting on a person's face! To make burns: apply unevenly w/a spatula, and use your fingers to pull apart areas, making holes, while it is still warm. Once cooled, paint with a clotted blood tone in the lower elevation areas and then apply black eyeshadow with a fluffy make-up brush on higher elevation areas to add a sooty, charred effect. For lacerations: apply a line the length and width of cut directly to skin. Before it cools, use a craft sticks or something with a bit of a point to "open up" the wound. Paint inside the wound with a clotted blood color and then use a light pink blush applied with a small fluffy make-up brush outside the wound,to add irritation. Pros-aide can be used to attach acrylic shards directly into cuts or safety pins can be stuck directly through cooled gelatin cuts for an extra gory effect. The photo isn't great quality, but it is two large lacerations made with gelatin that have acrylic shards glued into them with pros-aide, and then a clotted blood color from a hydropaint monster palette for the blood. This product will take a little time and practice, but stick with it. The end results are awesome. The effects hold up for hours, and don't come with the skin irritation issues that latex often has.

Awesome for SFX makeup
This stuff is great as long as you have the right amount. Measure it correctly with glycerine for the full effect! I used it for a very heavy SFX makeup costume, Hancock from Fallout 4. This stuff combined with my latex mask and makeup looks awesome!
