I bought this MEGAphone after it was reduced in price on Amazon. I read the previous reviews but they really didnt describe the product very well. I can confirm that this Pyle MEGAphone is REALLY LOUD and VERY impressive. It fitted into my rucksack and isnt heavy at all. It DOES have a rechargeable battery, despite some reviews saying it doesnt. You can use normal batteries if you choose. The Siren is shockingly LOUD. It takes about an hour to find your way around the MEGAphone, to understand where the buttons are and how to charge the battery, but after you have understood what everything does, you are going to really enjoy the MEGAphone.

So loud and easy to use. The plastic feels quite fragile so I hope it lasts. The charging option is perfect so no more buying big batteries. Also note take the plastic bit out from the batteries. This confuses a lot of people. The battery fits once the white bit is removed.

Does what it says on the tin... works a treat - no issues with the rechargeable battery pack some have reported.. but there are just two small screws and you can get inside - takes 3 18650 Lithium Ion batteries which don't state what capacity mah they are. I'll be upgrading mine to the latest 3500mah 18650 cells to enable more run time. Great piece of kit.

Supposedly USB powered but arrived with no port, no rechargeable battery, and no explanation. Really disappointing. Better to go with Vonyx instead.

It came with a rechable battery pack, we charged it until green light came on, but then looked how to fit it nowhere found, AI says it is build in, I had it in my hand , in the end I went out a bought 8 C batteries, even though it said on the box 8 D batteries

1st. The item I received was not the one you see pictured. (Color wise) The megaphone I received was polished black. Not matte black like the picture shows. 2. It’s supposed to come with a rechargeable batter and a charging wall adapter. The one I received was missing both the rechargeable battery and charging cable adapter. The box was supposed to be the only thing wrong with the item. Everything else was supposed to be with it. The description said nothing about any parts being missing. By all accounts I was getting the megaphone pictured in the original but damaged packaging. But to my surprise there was no rechargeable battery. And no charging wall adapter. I needed to be able to use the megaphone the day it was delivered So I went and spent nearly 40 bucks on batteries so that it would work. I reached out to Amazon who only offered a return. Not a replacement. So I’d have to wait for the money to be refunded then order another megaphone and wait for it to be delivered. I didn’t have time for that. I just needed the rechargeable battery. The price, the color, and the rechargeable battery were the three reasons I purchased this particular megaphone. So I reached out to Pyle because all the warranty card information was in the box. And they said because I bought a used one (“used” would mean the megaphone had been operated. This megaphone had not been operated. It’s original box was damaged. And “used” or not, it was still supposed to come with a rechargeable battery & charger. It’s not like I bought it at a garage sale and didn’t have an actual receipt.) that I didn’t qualify for a battery “replacement” but that I could go buy one off their website. I just paid for one that was supposed to come with one, And then spent 34 dollars on batteries. I’m not about to go spend more on a battery and charger that should have come with the unit in the first place. So, is it a good megaphone? Yes. It works. It’s loud. You can hook your phone up to it with an adapter and play music through it, the siren is terrific and having the light on the front comes in handier than you’d think. I live out in the country and there’s no noise ordinance and I’ll leave that siren running as long as it takes to get rid of poachers / trespassers/ thieves. They can try to hunt on my property but it won’t be quiet and pleasant that’s for sure. So while the megaphone works well, the poor customer service I received will prevent me from purchasing another Pyle branded product in the future. Hopefully if you purchase this particular model, it will come with everything it’s supposed to. And I wouldn’t recommend buying one with damaged packaging because Pyle will not stand behind their products if the package is damaged.
