Perfect for varnish or oiling in
I loved this brush so much that I got one for varnish, and one for oiling in. Perfect softness and doesn't shed at all. Good for dusting off dry oil paintings, too

Product May Be Good But Came Spattered With Varnish???
I haven’t used this highly-rated brush yet but wanted to share my disappointment in how it was delivered. These are expensive brushes and I expected better. I could return this for a “clean” product but maybe the performance will outweigh my frustration.

Works well
I like the thinness of this brush to apply varnish and the ease of cleaning with only water. However, after applying varnish to one 8 inch round board, I noticed a bristle was loose and of course I pulled it out. It happened again when using for another board. Sure hope I don’t lose all of the bristles! That would not be good for the price of this brush.

Black bristles bleed!
Beware .. I purchased this brush to varnish my oil and or acrylic paintings. The black bristles turned varnish a gray color. Gamblin replaced that brush with a new one and an apology. Replacement did the same thing. I would not buy this brush.
