I haven't had to use this a lot, but when I did, it's as advertised.

This is amazing.i first bought a 500amp inexpensive $40 converter. It didn’t charge my bosses co2 converter. This is like the mother of the first one I bought. I’m grateful for this converter. It charged my bosses oxygen concentrator. Which needed to be hooked up to the car battery for road trips. Also works great if the power goes out in the house. I plugged the Oxygen concentrator, Into this Electrical converter and it worked without the car being turned on. I’m so grateful for this converter. It’s literally a life safer! I can also charge my bosses portable CO2 concentrator into it while on the go. Many great uses. I suggest having it installed by a pro if hooking up to the battery. It’s powerful.

Tested under a 24hr load - works great. My only complaint is that the internal fan is LOUD.

Item worked for under five minutes, started making a buzzing noise, a red light turned on and stopped working RIP. Clearly QC at the Cobra is well below par or it’s a design flaw

I bought this for our road trip from St. Louis to Orlando. I was able to run my laptop and charge tablets. It was nice to be able to plug it into the 12 V cigarette outlet and not have to run a heavier gauge wire into the cabin of the vehicle. It does have a low voltage alarm, which will sound and shut itself off. This really only occurred when we would start the car so just make sure that it’s off prior to starting.

Just a word of warning to start off, even though this is a 500 W power inverter, you have to wire it directly to the battery in order to achieve that. If you use the cigarette lighter cable, it is only rated for 150 W. So be aware! Having said that, I bought the necessary size cables 5 AWG, 60 amp fuse, and wire loom to protect the wires, installed it in my work truck turned it on and worked flawlessly. All told I was in for around $100.

Got this because it is generally reviewed as quality brand. First of these portable inverters I have used. Tried it out today to make sure it worked, while hooked up directly the battery of my SUV it would NOT run: a full size fridge, a full size freezer. It would run (even when only hooked up to the cigarette lighter): one element of a small space heater, cell phone etc. I was hoping it would run a single fridge or freezer (in the event of a power outage), and should have based on the 500W rating. Or perhaps the initial surge of the appliance turning on was simply too much for it (believe it is rated to 1000W surge), but anyhow, if you too were hoping to use it for that - get a bigger model!

Bought this to power Halloween decorations from my Jeep and this thing still had power left to use even after plugging in 12 animated figures and 3 huge blowup props. Now to have it permanently installed in the Jeep 😊

This is made with cheap plastic one drop and it can break. While plugged into the cigarette outlet it would turn off. It was really good when it worked powered up most small 120v devices.
