Genuine Arkansas Soft (Medium) Knife Sharpening Bench Stone Whetstone 8" x 2" x 1/2" in Wood Box MAB-82-C

I have several different knives that I needed to sharpen. I had used whetstones and oil in the past so I was looking for the same setup. I didn't want to get into the artificial stones that use water. I wanted the real deal. - a real stone. This Genuine Arkansas Soft Whetstone is the real deal. I ordered some of Dan's oil at the same time. The case is a good way to protect the stone while protecting other things for any seeping oil left after wiping the soap down. It takes time and technique to sharpen a knife with a lot depending on the hardness of the steel in the knife and on how dull the knife is. The length of this stone allowed me to get a relatively long stroke while sharpening. Overall, this stone fulfilled my expectations and the knives will do more than cut butter now.

Hard to find good wet-stones for sharpening!tried diamond steel but got best edge with stone! This stone is big and great for my larger blades! Love it!

Great stone, lost my first one and ordered this Genuine Arkansas to replace it with. Easy to use (comes with instructions if needed) and I really like the storage box. Would recommend seller and product to anyone looking for a sharpening stone.

A well priced, high quality stone

Faster cutting than the medium Spyderco it replaced. As expected, a woodworking edge requires follow up with a fine stone as well. A good choice to begin with if your tools have not been dinged.
