My husband has type 2 diabetes and recently had a total hip replacement. Due to minimized movement, his legs and feet have been swelling. I bought these for him to wear during his PT phase and until he is able to move around more. Living in Florida, it is imperative that the socks don't work as a heating pad which draws the fluids and blood to the area. Although the socks do have ample stretch and are not too tight, they are still a bit warm. Therefore, the reason for 4 stars. The grip is great and they do wash nicely. With swollen feet and ankles, the claim to be able to wear in shoes is questionable unless one has a pair of shoes that is a whole size larger on hand. I don't have other socks to compare to so feel that a 4 star rating is ample...there is always room for improvement. I had to work the socks onto his feet to get them on properly so there is some compression area there. I would buy again.

Ordered these for my parents and they loved them. They're on their feet for long periods of time and they needed something lightweight and breathable, but also something that would not restrict blood circulation. I have repurchased these for them several times. Good quality overall.

These were perfect for my mother who often has swollen ankles.She thought they were great.

UPDATE- I've decided to keep them, BUT buyer beware. They do run very small. I can wear them on the cold floors in the mornings at least. GripJoy needs to address this size issue.These are well made, but more suited to narrow feet IMO. I wear a women's size 8-9 and I have wide feet. These feel a little like compression socks which I don't want. Since the listing said men on it I assumed they'd be the large ones, but either they are tight as well or these were small/medium.

I have purchased diabetic socks and they stretch and are comfortable however these grip bottoms do not stretch on the foot as much as they stretch on the leg

Fit well and not too tight on the ankles. Order by shoe size for a good fit.

Even though she doesn't have edema anymore, my older mom loves to wear these socks and says 'they're just so comfortable' and 'they don't dig in'. That's 80 years of sock experience for you! I can say they are well made, VERY WELL made.

Comfortable and soft

Bought these for my husband who has size 13 feet. and they fit perfectly. He is a larger man, and is very weak after a lengthy illness and hospitalization. We have hardwood floors and these socks help stabilize him when on his feet and increase his confidence. The tops aren't too tight on his legs either. We haven't laundered them yet, but they are very comfortable. (Update: I have now laundered these a few times and no issues. I did turn them inside out before washing and took them out of the dryer before they were bone dry and let them air dry the rest of the way. No shrinkage so far, and the grip strips are holding up to date. I have also ordered a 2nd set of these. Very very happy with them)

The problem with athletic socks and others is the bands on them are too tight, and can cause a lot of discomfort. The problem with a lot of Diabetic socks though comfortable, do not stay on your feet as they are too loose. However these socks are AWESOME!! they have a band that keeps them up on your feet but not so tight that they cause discomfort, As an added bonus, the 'grippers' on the bottom of the socks grips the floor so you dont slip on hardwood floors or tiles. They keep your feet where you put them, even in the bathroom, pretty cool right?

For anyone requiring grip socks for safety reasons these fit the bill. This is my second purchase, I find they wash well, have good stretch when putting them on, they don't bind around the calf , and they fit into your shoes comfortably. The second purchase came with a discount. I showed this sock to the Occupational Therapist and she took the information back with her about Gripjoy sock. Recommend.

They are good quality, they are made for size 9 men and under, i wear size 9.5 unfortunately i can not wear them, they are too tight, i hope they will come up with a larger size, so i am disappointed but i will give them to someone with smaller feet, i am positive, they will enjoy them.

I bought these for my father during his recent extended hospital stay when the hospital socks just weren’t cutting it. I was a bit concerned about fit because not only is he diabetic, he was in the hospital for an infection in his foot which caused major swelling. These socks fit him comfortably and stayed put without cutting off circulation - even after the swelling went down. I mean, this is according my Dad, who is probably the easiest going person on Earth and not at all hard to please. But, he did ask me to order more and that speaks volumes. Definitely recommend.
