Good price, good first instrument
Very cute and not very loud. My granddaughter like percussion. They are small so little hands work too but not as well as the Tom Toms. So far, the skins survived her 15 month old carrying them around and turning them upside down and filling them with blocks.

Had a very chemical smell but great drum!
My 10mo was MEZMORIZED by the drums in her music class so we needed to get her one. This one is sturdy and sounds great both with the mallet and just an open palm. It had a chemical smell when I first opened it but it faded by the next day, CAUTION: The small red piece at the end pops off very easily. I recommend just removing and discarding it when you receive the item to avoid any possible choking hazards. I can imagine how easily it would have come off while my daughter chews on the end of the mallet! So glad I checked!

BEWARE - my 1 year old grandson pulled off the red pieces (small) at the bottom of both mallets.
Although, my grandson loves the drum, was very upset he was able to take off the little red pieces at the end of both drum sticks. Could have been a disaster if my daughter was not right next to him when he did so. Can be a choking hazard. Drum can be played without the sticks and the drumsticks can be used without the red bottoms.
