Works well
[see review update]I just received the product and am testing the temperature accuracy before I make "yogurt". It seems like nice quality for the price. The manual is in Chinenglish, but good enough to figure out how to use the settings and you can learn how to make yogurt elsewhere. The "stainless steel" part seems to be just a thin decorative sheet of metal on the outside (maybe contributes well to insulating), so it's mostly plastic and not a steel structure. What I like most and the main reason why I chose this model is that you can change the temperature by +/- 1 degree increments. However, so far the temperature gauge is very inaccurate. I'm testing it by putting water in the jars and checking it with food thermometers and the temperature is off by 5-8 degrees. Maybe there's a breaking in period and it becomes more accurate and constant. I'm not trying to just make yogurt as if the consistency of the substance is all that matters. I'm growing L. reuteri cultures (technically not yogurt) which require a constant 100 degrees. The timer only shows hours, so you don't know if it's at 2 hours and 45 mins or 2 hours and 10 mins. Also, if you want to change the temperature mid fermenting, you'll have to reset both the temperature and the timer, so maybe have to use a separate timer. If the temperature stays constant and it doesn't break, I can up the rating to 4 stars (considering its $32 price) even if I do have to manually measure the temperate and adjust it to compensate for the inaccuracy (i.e. set it to 93 degrees if I want 100 degrees). It's not bad for a $32 product with the +/- 1 degree adjustment and up to 48 hours timer features considering that the alternative would be to pay $70-100+ for something else.Update: I tried adding water to the area around the jars and everything works well. The temperature gauge is still inaccurate, but it's only off by 1-3 degrees. I set it to 99 degrees and the temperature in the jars is 100-101 and is constant for 36+ hours. The instruction manual doesn't say to put water in the area around the jars, but it may be designed to be used that way. So, if you need an accurate constant temperature, you need to add the water and check it with a separate food thermometer.

Bought for my Bestie and now I want one!
It was a gift, and my best friend LOVES it! This model features timer and variable temp - for different types of yogurt making. She didn't even need to purchase starter! Just added a little of the strawberry yoplait she had in the fridge to some milk and fresh berries and voila! Her toddler boys are thrilled. Success!

made l. reuteri yogurt with this
it can control temperature, which is key for L. reuteri. it warms on the low side. a setting of 99, gives 97. That's the value and 36 hours i used for making l. reuteri yogurt from 2 probiotic capsules.CONS:i don't like having 8 jars to wash. one tub would have been better.there should be 16 jars then, so you can enjoy the 8 in fridge and have another batch brewing. This has to be since you're providing individual servings. it makes no sense to remove the yogurt from the individual servings and then into another container for the fridge. hence a second set has to be available to get continuous yogurt making.

Tibek yogurt maker
Not satisfied. So, I set 131F as highest and put warm water to keep the temperature evenly for 8 hours. After 30mins, the water temp dropped to 115F ish...then after 1 hour, dropped to 108F ish. When it was delivered, the outside box had no damage, but the product box was ripped and tape was off. So possibly, a broken / returned product was sent out.Easy to use, tho.

Temps are way off and are inconsistent - not recomended for reuteri yogurt.
I make reuteri yogurt with this device. Reuteri needs a low temp of about 100 f and a 48 hour fermentation. This device and the one I had before it run hot by 7-8 degrees, meaning I have to set the maker at 93 to get 100. The other problem is that sometimes it is 94 or 95 to get 100 and sometimes 94 will end up being 103. It changes all the time. Basically, I end up having to check the maker several times a day during the 48 hours and make adjustments. Major PITA. I would really like to find a device that keeps a constant and correct temp that doesn't need monitoring. This isn't it. Notes about photo: started this batch with 94 set on machine, after a few hours it was 103! Had to add ice and reset to 93. Now at 99 and shown in photo. (real temp confirmed with two other calibrated thermometers known to be accurate) Last weeks batch was set at 95 to yield temp of 100. Device is very unreliable and inconsistent.

Pretty good and affordable
For the price its a good buy. Only issue it had is the digital programmer was off by 2 degrees so you might have to set your temperature 2 degrees higher than desired. No other issues.

Nice, compact yogurt maker
I like the size. It's big enough for me to make the amount of yogurt that needed to make, but compact enough that it stores easily without taking up too much room in my cabinets. The temperature setting has been accurate. I'm really glad that I chose this one.
